(Geraniaceae). Anales Jard. Bot. Madrid 56(2): 211-252 (en inglés). Se presenta una "checklist" del género Geranium L. (Geraniaceae) en la que se aceptan 423 especies, repartidas en 3 subgéneros y 18 secciones. Seguimos la clasificación propuesta por Yeo, aunque reconocemos la sección Brasiliensia en el subg. Erodioidea, y las secciones Neurophyllodes, Paramensia y Azorelloida en el subg. Geranium. La sect. Azorelloida es propuesta como nombre nuevo para la sect. Petraea R. Knuth, nom. illeg. Asimismo se propone G. collae como nombre nuevo para G. intermedium Colla, nom. illeg. Se incluye una clave para la identificación de los subgéneros y secciones. Después de revisar la práctica totalidad de los nombres publicados en Geranium se da el nombre correcto, el lugar de publicación y el área de distribución de cada especie aceptada, así como las referencias bibliográficas más importantes para cada una de ellas. Para codificar las distribuciones geográficas, en los niveles de "región" y "país botánico", se han seguido las propuestas del International Working Group on Taxonomic Databases (TDWG). Species identification is fundamentally important within the fields of biology, biogeography, ecology and conservation. The genus Geranium L. (Geraniaceae) Ključne besede: ISSR, morfologija, comprises about 430 species distributed throughout most parts of the world. določitev vrst. According to the most recent treatments, subg. Geranium is the largest subgenus with over 370 species classified in ten sections. The subg. Geranium is represent- ed in Iran by 13 species. These species are grouped 3 sections. In spite vast distri- bution of many Geranium species that grow in Iran, there are not any available report on their genetic diversity, mode of divergence and patterns of dispersal. Therefore, we performed molecular (ISSR markers) and morphological studies of 102 accessions from 13 species of Geranium (subg. Geranium) that were col- lected from different habitats in Iran. The aims of present study are: 1) can ISSR markers identify Geranium species, 2) what is the genetic structure of these taxa in Iran, and 3) to investigate the species inter-relationship? The present study revealed that combination of morphological and ISSR data can identify the species. Izvleček Določitev vrst je pomembna v biologiji, biogeografiji, ekologiji in naravovarstvu. The purpose of these investigations amongst others is that of providing a material which may be used later in treatments of general biological or evolutionary problems. A total of 23 vascular plant species surveys were carried out in three sites: one for each semester in Paul da Praia da Vitória (PPV) and Paul da Pedreira do Cabo da Praia (PPCP); one for each semester (except in 2014) in Paul do Belo Jardim (PBJ). The main objectives were to determine the plant richness of the three sites and to monitor yearly variation on species composition. -
Annex 1 Field Survey and Monitoring of Flora and Vegetation This Part Of
Annex 1 Field survey and monitoring of flora and vegetation This part of the research focuses on the analysis and characterization of olive grove agro-ecosystems in terms of flora biodiversity. A description of the survey area has to be made before assessing the floristic component for it to be set within the landscape, including few information on soil typology and illustrating the management features of the field. It is first of all necessary to assess and analyse the presence of different vegetation structures with respect to the territorial area to be characterized and then to move to the subsequent characterization of the different vegetational components on the basis of a targeted floristic analysis. The investigated territory will be subdivided into homogeneous areas that may include several plots and/or different ecological infrastructures. Then, within each of these homogeneous areas, representative plots and representative ecological infrastructures for each different existing types (fields, field margins, hedges, uncultivated land, etc.) will be chosen. Sampling of the floristic component The assessment of vegetation biodiversity has to be made separately for the different land cover types taking into account the following two main categories: a) Cultivated plots; b) Ecological infrastructures. Sampling method Depending on the land cover categories to be sampled, a different sampling typology is applied relative to the prevailing ecological meaning that the area to be assessed takes in the agricultural context. Cultivated plots For the plot scale analysis of herbaceous species the simplified Raunkiaer method (Cappelletti, 1976) is proposed. It foresees a fixed number of throws (9 to 10 per plot) over the plot, using a square metal frame (point quadrats) of an agreed side of 0.25m.
