Advanced Putting WEEK 6 Lesson 1 PRACTICE B

Practice B is all about building habits and reenforcing fundamentals

Typically we don’t want to have a Practice B session right before a round

However, with putting, if you give yourself ample time (1 hour or more before round) you can work on Practice B habit building

Ex: string and mirror before round

We suggest using a Throw-A-Hole to narrow your focus before you tee off Lesson 2 SETTING UP PUTTING STRING

How to set up: Roll a few from roughly 10 feet away to help find a straight putt Put first stake in the ground roughly one step behind hole Now place second stake straight down line that you found earlier

Pro Tip: Place towel under your feet, so you don’t kill grass

Putting Checkpoints: face is swore and hands leading at setup Putter face is still square at finish Butt end of club points at lead hip

Must use pink string Lesson 3 PUTTING MIRROR

What to be looking for on mirror: Center black line below string line Parallel red lines promoting square to square path Look for your eyes to be over the center black line

Principle #1 - Keep back edge of putter off the mirror If you have forward lean, the back edge of your putter will be off the mirror

Principle #2 - Don’t lean on the putter If you lean on the putter you will see the mirror begin to bow The putter should never “stick” on the way back

Principle #3 - Hold your finish Run through your checkpoints Lesson 4 SHOULDER MIRROR

This is a simple attachment to the Eye Line Mirror

Principle #1 - Shoulders must be square at set up If shoulders are open, adjust your shoulder and hips

Principle #2 - Shoulders remain square after stroke When you hold your finish, you should still see your shoulders parallel to red line in shoulder mirror

Shoulders will open slightly on longer putts 25ft + Lesson 5 TEE GATE

How to set up: Place tee’s one putter grip length in front of starting point, under the string Make the tee gate just wider then a Be hard on yourself!

Principle #1 - Tee gate shows how square your putter face is at impact Be sure to hold your finish Leading edge of putter face will be square to tee gate Lesson 6 RAIL STATION

How to set up: Use middle irons and lay just wider then putter head Be sure to put irons heads facing out!

Principle #1 - Don’t touch the rails Just like the game “Operation”, we don't want to touch the rails Don’t always have to do this drill with a ball Check finish - putter face should still be between rails at finish Only 2-3ft away, so that stroke doesn’t have any arch Lesson 7 SPEED STATION

How to set up: Use pin, club, alignment aid, etc and place half a putter length behind the hole Place perpendicular to the line you are putting

Principle #1 - Keeping it in the zone We are trying to make this putt If we don’t make it, thats ok - however, the ball must stop before the pin Start at 15-20 ft and work back from there This drill is only about speed Lesson 8 TOOLS

Whats in the bag: 2 dozen golf balls - must be the same type of ball you play with Line-M-Up Pro to mark balls as needed Digital level for AimPoint Numbered stakes for AimPoint % Tape measure If interested in your own practice bag, click here or go to Half dozen golf tee’s http://bit.ly/ShortGameBag Eye Line and Shoulder Mirror Pack of Throw-A-Holes Towel Lesson 9 GAME - 21

Required: 2 Balls per player 2 Players

How to play: Player 1 picks a spot and putts both balls, do not move your balls Player 2 then putts from the same spot 1 point per ball inside of the other player Example: Player 1 has one ball inside of Player 2, Player 1 receives 1 point. If Player 1 had two balls inside of Player 2, they would receive 2 points. If a player makes a putt, its worth 5 points If both players make a putt each, they cancel each other out Have to win by 2 points

Works on: Pressure simulation Lag putting Lesson 10 GAME - 7-UP

Required: 1 Ball

How to play: You play to different holes around your practice green 1 Putt (Make) = 1 point 2 Putts = 0 points 3 Putts = -2 points Try to score 7 points Works on: Pressure simulation Drills in the 2 putt Makes the player go for it
