4 PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Dear Fellow Cricket Lover,

In my first season as President of this great club, I would like to acknowledge the Presidency of my predecessor, Peter Filmer, under whom the club has now prospered for many years. Pete has been central to this club for as long as I've been associated with it and I was thrilled that the Club was able to formally acknowledge Pete's many year contribution with the unveiling this year of the 'Peter Filmer Honour Board'.

One of our driving values at the Club remains 'Increasing Participation in Cricket' and to this extent, season 2009/10 exceeded our expectations of success (even for Springwood Cricket) both on and off the field. This season, we registered ten junior and seven senior sides boasting over 200 regular players for the first time in many season, if not ever. From this line up, we managed to get nine sides into the semi-finals and whilst this only translated into one premiership (congratulations to our Under 12's), the spirit and friendship right across the club has gone from strength to strength. Congratulations to all our players. Also, a big thank you to all our volunteers including the Junior coaches and managers and the Senior Captains (and managers). The fact that these individuals step forward and take on these roles means a better season for us all - so thank you.

Speaking of Club Spirit, nowhere was this more in evidence this year than at the inaugural Legends Dinner that proceeded the annual Back to Springwood Day. The icing on the cake of this fantastic event was the recognition of our first Springwood Cricket Club 'Legend' in Graeme Lewis; a fitting award acknowledging a true contributor to our club for over 40 years! A great night was had by all who attended and I'm really looking forward to this event next season.

On that note I would like to also acknowledge our committee. A great bunch of volunteers without whom our club does not get sides on the paddock. In particular, I would like to acknowledge the work of two individuals.

Firstly, Frank McDermott took on the formal committee role of Sponsorship liaison this year but his enthusiasm brought to our club a whole lot more. Among numerous other things, Frank was the driving force behind our Legends night and I've not seen a Club member work harder for the club in any one year than Frank did for us this year. I would also like to acknowledge our treasurer, Grant Hunt. Grant has been doing this role for several years and under his guidance, our financial position has never been more stable. The job is at times thankless with the chasing up of fees and the like but simply put, without strong financial leadership, our cricket club doesn't work. So to these two individuals in particular but also to our whole committee, a big thank you.

And lastly, thank you to all who offered their support to me this year. I've enjoyed the Presidency role (a very easy one with this Great Club) as well as having enormous fun with all of the teams with which I played and coached this year.

I wish everyone a safe and prosperous 'off-season' and look forward to you all returning as we once again battle all those teams east of us in Season 2010/11.

Yours in cricket, David Williams President, Springwood Cricket Club 5

PERPETUAL TROPHY WINNERS

SENIOR PLAYER OF THE YEAR Michael Ross & Callum Williams

The Senior Player of the Year is awarded to the player deemed to have achieved the most outstanding and consistent on field results during the season. Over the history of the award there have been some great cricketers to win the award. This year is no different with Mick Ross & Callum Williams both scoring a mountain & runs and taking many . Mick’s season was a better one with the bat then the ball. His season statistics showed that he scored 453 @ 56.6 which included 2 centuries, & took 17 wickets @ 25 to combine with taking 9 catches in the field, His highlight of the season would have definitely been the 109 off only 54 balls in the A Grade senior twenty20 comp which included 7 fours & 7 sixes.

Callum’s season was very consistent with both bat & ball. He scored 657 runs @ 38.1, also including 2 centuries, across 4 grades which show just how capable he is. With the ball he took 28 wickets @ 16.4 and held onto 1 catch. He had many highlights during this season but the standout would have been the majestic 130 out of the team total of 245.

THE RON ADAMSON TROPHY Frank McDermott (Senior Clubman of the Year)

Life member Ron Adamson was president of Springwood Cricket Club for more than 25 years, and passed away in 2004. This perpetual trophy is awarded in recognition to the hard work and dedication Ron gave to this club during his time at Springwood. This year’s winner embodies that same hard work & dedication. Frank McDermott was elected to the committee as Sponsor Liaison and did an outstanding job. Frank also played in 2 nd , 5 th & 8 th grade throughout the season & served on the senior selection panel. Frank also was the major factor in the running of the first “Springwood Legends Night”, without Frank’s hard work this night wouldn’t have been a success. Frank’s hard work & dedication are a big part of Springwood’s success.

THE WALLY PHILLIPS MEMORIAL SHIELD Paul Petterson (Man of the match Back to Springwood Day)

Peter Crouch, with a brilliant 4-28 off 6 overs, Mick Ross with a brilliant 2-6 off 5 overs & Rydall Govender with a quickfire 23 might have been in with a shot of the Wally Phillips Memorial Shield were it not for Paul Petterson’s brilliant allround performance that pushed Springwood to victory. Paul batted with lots of maturity for his 51 not out which included 3 massive sixes, including 1 to win the game & bring up his half century. With the ball he took 1-8 off 4 overs to keep the scoring down. Sam Pointon & Jason Crosara both chipped in with wickets to help keep Glenmore Park to a score of 141.Paul’s brilliant 51 not out pushed Springwood to 6/146 and shared in an unbeaten 55 run partnership with David Gibson to clinch victory & take it’s record on Back to Springwood Day to seven wins and no losses.

CAPTAINS REPORTS

1st GRADE

It’s that time of year again to reflect on the season that was. This season saw Springwood make the semi finals but unfortunately lost the semi is a closely fought match.

The semi final was a close game, but unfortunately we didn’t bat well enough in the semi although we did manage to get to 180. A couple of dropped catches early in the oppositions innings didn’t help and eventually they passed our score 5 down.

Our top performer this year was Mick Ross, scoring 325 runs, taking 8 wickets & 9 catches. Two highlights for Mick were making 103 in the last round before the semis. Such was the enormity of this knock, Mick batted at 4, came in at 2 for 3, then departed for 103 & springwood were 5 for 138, just amazing. His other highlight came in the 20/20 making 109 not out off only 54 balls including 7 sixes & 7 fours, incredible!!!

Mick was ably supported in the batting by Paul Petterson who scored 266 runs, Rydall Govender who scored 264 runs & Mick Pointon who scored 232 runs.

In the bowling department Sam Pointon took 28 wickets for the season & was supported by Peter Crouch who took 22 wickets, Scott Filmer who took 12 wickets, Jason Crosara who took 11 wickets & Luke O’Carrigan who took 10 wickets.

Adam Thomas & Brad Filmer has solid seasons scoring over 100 runs & chipping in with some wickets & some catches.

David Gibson was having a very solid season with 170 runs & 8 dismissals at Christmas time but a motorbike accident saw him break his shoulder & was unable to play after Christmas.

Once again Back to Springwood day was a success with Springwood continuing on their winning ways to clinch victory to take its record to 7 in a row.

Thanks again to the committee for helping out with BTSD and continuing on to make this great club even better.

Thanks to all the guys who filled in at different times throughout the season, just goes to show just how much depth we have in the club!!

Brad Filmer

2nd GRADE

I’m getting tired of saying it, but again the 2009/10 season was “the year that should have been” for our 2 nd Grade. Contrary to the past 3 seasons, last season saw 2 nd Grade suffer from having a different team on the park each week which eventuated in our season consisting of a squad of 31 players. Despite this, rigor, commitment and obvious talent remained in tact resulting in great success and we finished the season as Minor Premiers. Once again, morale and unity was synonymous with the team, where constant encouragement and a great deal of friendly banter would always be heard both on and off the field.

On the field, Springwood prided ourselves that we were the best fielding team in the competition by far. We were again easily the best team in the competition, but unfortunately chose to choke in the 1 st Innings of the Semi Final. Despite the bad start, we had rallied and were looking good for a possible 2nd Innings win on day 2 when rain ended the game.

The strength of this Springwood team is that the nucleus of the team have been together now for 4 seasons. We also enjoyed the inclusion of new players Steve Bingon, Gavin Neale and Tim Kuilart who’s individual talents added to our strengths. I have no doubt everyone will be back next season and I look forward to joining these fine young men in battle again.

Shaun Kitchener A true Clubman is our Shaun, turning out for the Club on 19 occasions last season. As per season’s past, Shaun always leads the attack with fast and furious pace and predominantly a good line. He never gives up and bowls perfectly to the field I set for him. Nobody would argue that when Kitch bowls well, we win. The season saw him shoulder a massive workload bowling 91 overs in 2 nd Grade, 13 in 1 st Grade and 34 in 4 th Grade. Including 20/20’s Kitch sent down 155 overs for the season capturing 36 wickets. For 2 nd Grade, he claimed 20 wickets at an average of 17.7 with his best figures of 5 for 53. Once again, he would have claimed a hell of a lot more scalps had all the slips catches been held. Shaun is also more than handy with the bat on the odd occasion, and a great fielder. All of this talent is rolled into a fantastic bloke. Well done mate!

Gavin Neale In Gavin’s maiden season for Springwood he certainly impressed! Bowling in partnership with Kitch, he added an additional spark to our fielding arsenal. Utilising great lines and swing, Gav claimed 14 2 nd Grade wickets at an average of 21.3 from his 67 overs. He also achieved a 4 th Grade record taking 7 for 34 in a match winning performance in one of the games he filled in. Gav is also very handy with the bat and he beefed up 2 nd ’s middle order, impressing with a fifty in his maiden innings for the Club, and averaging 30.2 for the year. Another fantastic feature of Gav’s game is his fielding ability, and he is certainly a catch magnet taking 7 often sharp catches. A great season Gav! I’m looking forward to watching you top it next year.

Nathan McDermott (aka Macca) Generally, if Kitch and co haven’t blasted the opposition out, Macca backed by the team’s exemplary fielding gets the job done. Last season saw Nathan on the field for 2 nd ’s in 7 rounds, one in pain with what turned out to be appendicitis! He bowled with his usual tenacity but didn’t enjoy the success we’ve all become accustomed to. Regardless, Macca still asserted his dominance upon opposition batsman taking 10 wickets at an average of 18.5. Despite often bowling without luck, his economy rate as always was fantastic at 3.4 runs an over. Well done to the Biiig Maaan.

21 Menake Rambukkana (aka Rambo) again showed his worth to the team being always available and bringing with him some occasionally brilliant bowling. When he got it right, he was good to watch and claimed a very handy 11 wickets from his 68 overs at a reasonable economy rate. The season report would not be done justice without writing about how he also mistakenly provided a lot of humour for the boys with bowling the shortest bouncer ever known to man followed up by an unreachable beamer. Rambo again fended off all challengers for his acclaimed No11 batting position amassing 10 runs from 5 digs. Well done Rambo. We all look forward to more of the same next season.

Stephen Bingon (aka Binga) was another Club debutant last season. Like Gav, he too added an extra dimension to the team with his wiley swing bowling and his calm “experienced head” that often saw him come into his own batting with the tail. With the ball, Binga claimed 17 opposition scalps at an average of 15.1 from his 67 overs, and best bowling figures of 8 for 39. With the willow he averaged 14.8 and was also good in the field. Apart from the good stats, Binga’s inclusion gave the team another old Bastard to accompany Dave Williams ☺. Great work Bing. I look forward to seeing you again next season.

Following on with the “old bastard” status, Dave Williams (Mr President) had a fantastic season. His glove work was exemplary taking 20 2 nd Grade catches and effecting 3 stumpings. This included two “5 for’s” and one “6 for”. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Dave tell me each week how he was going in the stat’s department compared with our mutual mate Grant Hunt. Dave’s outstanding keeping effort was complimented with 217 runs at an average of 43.4 with the willow. Again, Dave was the skipper when I was away and amused all with his uncanny ability to lose every coin toss ☺. Well done mate. I’m looking forward to another season together again.

Kyle Honeysett (aka pads) is another true Clubman turning up for 17 games in the season. He led the team into bat all year, often establishing a good start for us. Kyle averaged 20.8 for 2 nd ’s, and 29.5 for 4 th Grade. He bagged himself two valuable “fifty’s” along his way to 272 Club runs. Kyle again offered the bowlers a safe set of hands in slips, and in the outfield he’s got an arm that you don’t chance a run on. Good stuff mate.

What a season for young Jonathan Lees. Again and again, Jono shows the way with his bat. He is one bloke whom commands respect from all comers, and is definitely known as the prized Springwood to get. Batting at No 3, he scored 267 runs @ 53.4 for 2 nd ’s including 3 “fifty’s”, and tallied up 379 Club runs @ 37.9 for the season. In comparison with Kitch’s bowling effort, when Jono bats well the team scores plenty. On top of his batting prowess, Jono is one of our best in the field too. He has a safe set of hands, a bullet like throw, he’s a great talker and a definite team player. Jono’s definitely a Skipper in the making.

Tim Kuilart had filled in for us on the odd occasion over the past few seasons, but this year saw him return to full time status. Tim brought the team a batting option that could be used to accelerate a score board. Tim’s no fan of running between the wickets so he has well adapted a cavalier hitting style accompanied with the odd graceful shot. On one occasion he hit a six at Lomatia that they’re still looking for at Faulconbridge.

One of the foundation stones of the team is Matt Tabrett (aka Dancer) . Unfortunately Matt injured himself in the off season during a physical ballet session (or was it Soccer?), that saw him miss all the season bar 3 games. The most important reason that Tabb’s year had to get a mention was his amazing efforts in the middle. We all know Matt’s ability with the bat, well this season he didn’t disappoint scoring a solid 1 run from 3 innings! Sorry mate, Gav made me do it! I definitely think you can top that next year. ☺

22

The last of the regulars was Matt Rogers (aka Rogo) . Again I thoroughly enjoyed another year leading this talented team into battle. As has been the case before, we as a team have unfinished business, and I look forward to going around again next year with this great bunch of blokes.

The 2009/10 2nd Grade Season Report would not be complete without thanking Paul Hameister, Adam Thomas, Cam Bryant, Sam Pointon, Grant and Nathan Hunt, Rydall Govender, Pete Tracey, Chay Jordon, Daniel Bashford, Callum Williams, Matt Poynting, Paul Petterson, Jon Maloney, Maclane Mitchell, Dave Gibson, Scott Gregory, Mick Sparkes, Derrick Sanders, Sam Tucker, Hamish Lees and Rod Mosmann all for playing their part in this teams success by filling in for us when we were short. Thanks Gents.

A truly great effort all round where good fun and morale was underwritten with success.

Cheers,

Matt Rogers - Captain

23 4th GRADE

Springwood were somewhat surprised at being promoted to 4 th grade, given that the bulk of the side had only managed 1 win in the previous season, however with the re-instatement of 2 nd grade and the removal of Premier grade, the competition seemed to be a lot more even.

Despite this, Springwood’s batting woes continued when being dismissed for just 79 in our first effort for the season against Emu Plains. A major turnaround in this match suggested this could be a special season though, when thanks to a rare 5 for from Skipper Paul Hameister, coupled with a fine second innings 71 from Derrick Sanders saw Springwood win the match outright after trailing on the first innings.

Round 2 had us destroying eventual Premiers Peachtree Hotel by 189 runs in a one-dayer when a commanding 91 from Mick Sparkes and an unbeaten 55 from keeper Grant Hunt, coupled with an amazing hat-trick from Scott Gregory had us starting to believe in ourselves as a major force in this competition.

Our first loss didn’t come until round 5 when we were simply out batted by Glenmore Park. A gripping tie at Lomatia against Glenbrook/Blaxland in round 3 that had Jon Maloney top scoring with 60 together with a smart 3 for 9 from new recruit Dean Bradshaw and a solid win against Penrith RSL in round 4 had seen Springwood in a tight tussle for top spot.

We won 4 on the trot rounds 6 through 9, unfortunately not rewarded on the ladder as the top 2 sides also kept winning. Highlights were Harley Stibbard top scoring with 56 and also taking the bowling honours against Consumers in round 6, Rodney Mosmann and Shaun Kitchener both taking 4 for in round 7 against Panthers, Mosmann and Kitchener again starring with the ball in round 8 against Emu Plains, Kitchener also top scoring with 70, and round 9 a special game for Matt Poynting who snagged his maiden century in senior cricket, 101 unbeaten plus 58 from Kyle Honeysett. Stibbard continued his fine bowling form with 5 for 59.

The new year brought an unfortunate loss against competition leaders Glenbrook/Blaxland, a match seemingly under control until we lost Grant Hunt and Mick Sparkes to injury. Despite not losing another match in the regular season, momentum was difficult to maintain mainly thanks to weather extremes, and we got through the last 4 rounds with 2 wins and 2 draws. The most satisfying part of this being that our bowling attack did not concede more than 71 runs in the final 4 rounds, largely helped by Gavin Neale who took 7 for in round 11 against Consumers and Harley Stibbard 4 for 9 against Panthers in round 14.

The final ladder saw us finish 3 rd , where we had spent most of the season, 21 points (3.5 wins) in front of 4 th spot and the prospect of a competition decider at Lomatia Park. An extremely satisfying regular season, easily the best that this writer has experienced in my 13 seasons with Springwood Cricket Club.

The sudden death semi final against 2 nd placed Glenmore Park at their home ground saw Springwood losing the toss and bowling first. We dropped somewhere in the region of 6 to 8 catches but still managed to dismiss the opposition for 152, leaving us 85 overs to chase that target. Congratulations must go to Derrick Sanders, one of the few players to improve as the season went on, taking 5 for in what ultimately proved to be our final game of the season. We saved our worst batting performance for the most important game. 3 for 8 became 8 for 51 at stumps on the first day, Springwood dismissed for a paltry 62 early on 24 day 2, only saved further pain by a torrential downpour that saw many other results decided by the weather.

Batting:

Jon Maloney 297 runs at 22.85 - great to see this club stalwart cement the number 3 spot in the order with confident, consistent performances.

Chay Jordan 233 runs at 21.18 - another confident top order bat, season cut short by work commitments but had amassed over 300 runs in all grades by the half way mark of the season.

Derrick Sanders 199 runs at 18.09 – a valued member of our side who batted everywhere from opener to 8 throughout the season. Not sure if it was enough to prevent Kyle’s stats permanently inked on his person.

Matt Poynting 197 runs at 17.91 – an obvious highlight being his ton in round 8, a pleasure to witness. Continues to improve as an opener, a reward for stepping up to the plate in this position.

Grant Hunt 176 runs at 14.67 – another massive improver, also managed to snare the coveted Fluffy Duck award. A reliable number 7 given his huge responsibility with the gloves as keeper. Also Vice-Captain of the side who helped me greatly with the leadership responsibilities.

Mick Sparkes 129 runs at 32.25 – simply a class act with the blade. Only managed 4 innings with the side but always quality and a pleasure to play cricket with.

Harley Stibbard 124 runs at 13.78 – another of our all round brigade. Single handedly won us at least 1 game and would walk into most sides in our club.

Shaun Kitchener 119 at 39.67 – a huge thank you to this second grader who gave up his time to assist us when we were short. I’d go as far to say that we may of struggled to 3 rd spot without him. Only played 4 games for us but starred in all of them.

Honourable mentions must go to the following players: Andrew Berry – club stalwart who looked like he was having his best season for some time before an illegal delivery saw him with a badly broken finger and out for a long period. James Moore – another returning long term player who had his season cut short. Kyle Honeysett – another 2 nd grader who managed a half century in one of his 2 digs with 4 th grade.

Bowling:

Derrick Sanders 25 wickets at 12.12 – Derrick lived up to potential and cemented one of the opening bowling spots with consistent pace and controlled aggression. Improved throughout the season and always took wickets.

Rodney Mosmann 19 wickets at 11.11 – originally pencilled in as an opening bat, Rodney did a complete 360 and wound up batting 10 for most of the year but really came to the fore as the side’s off-spinner. The most consistent bowler in the side and was usually into the attack very early. Another who always took wickets and bowled long spells.

25 Harley Stibbard 19 wickets at 14.47 – Had a great second half of the season and was an integral part of the best bowling attack in the competition. Able to open as well and one of the best fielders in the side.

Paul Hameister 18 wickets at 17.50 – Happy with how I bowled but unhappy with the total wickets taken given I grabbed 8 in the first match and could only manage 10 in the next 14. Living proof that crap gets wickets and good bowling gets you nothing. Backing up may also have been a factor.

Scott Gregory 12 wickets at 27.67 – another who is capable of opening and always part of our top 5 bowlers used. Possibly held back from bowling more overs by the quality of bowlers our side was blessed with.

Dean Bradshaw 6 wickets at 7.67 – Dean also suffered from us having gluttony of bowlers to choose from but his average proves his potential and he took valuable wickets at critical times.

Honourable mentions must go to the following players: Gavin Neale – his 7 wicket haul in his one appearance for us was all class. Shaun Kitchener – 11 match winning wickets in 4 games, enough said. Jon Maloney – only 2 wickets but only bowled 3.3 overs. Backed himself and rewarded his captain. Nathan Hunt – for a 14 year old playing men’s cricket he is definitely a star of the future with bat and ball. Good enough to win a semi final spot in the side.

Grant Hunt had a great season behind the stumps as our keeper – the best in the district by a mile and honoured by the NDCA as such. Thank you also for your help with running this great side.

I would also like to thank Matt Rogers, Dave Williams and the 2 nd grade boys who helped us out during the season – Steve Bingon, Tim Kuilart, Jono Lees and the before mentioned Shaun Kitchener, Gavin Neale and Kyle Honeysett . We couldn’t have done it without you. Peter Wilson, Andrew and Daniel Bashford, Mike Poynting, Danny Stibbard and Matthew Hunt also contributed to our success during the regular season. Special mention to returning old boy Mick Fowler , who probably didn’t get the opportunity he deserved.

Thanks all for a memorable season. I hope I get the opportunity to lead this side again to bigger and better things, or at least have the pleasure of sharing with you the joy of playing this wonderful game of cricket. You are all a credit to Springwood Cricket Club.

Paul Hameister. Captain.

26 5th GRADE

A very good team effort saw 5 th Grade finish 2 nd in the competition after 14 rounds, win their semi final comfortably before going down in a narrow final loss. The team was predominately a very young side with a few senior players to add a bit of experience. Getting our best side on the paddock was always a challenge and although we had a basic squad of 14 players we had to call on 12 players from other grades or the juniors to ensure we could field a team on any given week. Special thanks go to those players for helping us out during the season.

As always there were some memorable moments during the season. Probably none better from a team point of view than when we defended 90 runs against Cougars with only 8 players in the field bowling them out for 86. The catch of the season occurred in the game against Glenbrook when Drew Richmond took a screamer in the gully. In the same game Ian Lees effort at mid wicket, his first catch for many years was a highlight. Our batting struggled at times but Drew Richmond who scored 254 @ 23.09, Hayden Druce 209 @20.9 and Brendan Moroney 169 @ 21.13 all performed well. Bowling was certainly our strength with Scott Randall 27 wickets @11.59 and Mark Jansen 24 wickets @ 15.88 outstanding. They were capably supported by Hamish Lees 18 wickets @ 12.17 and Cameron Douglas 15 wickets. James Bendall and Craig Bamford also took valuable wickets and showed great promise. Special mention must go to Scott Randall who took 14 catches which was the highest in the grade.

After a relatively comfortable win in the semi final against Cougars we faced minor premiers Colyton St Clair in the final. In the two matches during the season they had won convincingly on both occasions scoring 302 and 276 against us. After losing the toss in the final and fielding the boys put in a superb performance to bowl Colyton out for 91. Although starting our chase well wickets fell too regularly and we were only able to reach 64 in reply and the game was gone. Nevertheless a great team effort from the whole side which will hopefully see us go one better next season.

8th GRADE

The 2009/10 season was by far the best had by 8 th Grade in many years, with several players putting in some good performances throughout the summer. Both Mark Mitchell (HS 61) and Grahame Martin (HS 56 no) scored over 50 runs on three occasions. Other notable performances with the bat included: Richard Craig (HS 85 no), Dave Abbey (HS 88), Peter Winterbottom (HS 66), Stephen Osborne (HS 61), Kynan Hopkins (HS 54), Peter Hitchens (HS 54) and Ben Luscombe (HS 53 no).

Our bowlers were also impressive with the ball on many occasions with 5 of our bowlers taking 5 or more wickets in a match. These included: Stephen Osborne (6/14), Peter Winterbottom (5/17), Maclane Mitchell (5/19), Graham Martin (5/19) and Kynan Hopkins (5/65).

8th grade welcomed 5 new players this summer, all of whom made valuable contributions to the renewed success of the team. The existing players also performed admirably and assisted greatly in the team achieving a place in the semi finals, our best achievement for several seasons.

After a disappointing loss in the semi finals, with a 2 nd innings washout, 8 th Grade will return next year and hopefully go one better for Springwood Cricket Club by winning the 8 th Grade title.

Nathan Hardge - Captain

29 9th Grade

This season started with the team being dropped to 9 th grade. We finished 7 th on the ladder but we were unlucky not to finish 4 th and make the semi finals.

Dave Keevill: Dave opened the batting each week and was always reliable. He topped the runs this year with 314 at 26.17 and also took 1 wicket. Gary Kime: Gaz made the change from spin to pace which proved to be one of the best things he’s done taking 22 wickets with the ball. He also showed what he could do with the bat scoring 229 runs at 20.82. Alex Sheerman: Saved me more than once this season. His powerful hitting destroyed every bowling attack. The best way to describe Alex’s batting is he liked to go big sometimes 15 or 20 meters past the ropes. He scored 226 runs at 22.60. He also took 7 wickets and 6 catches. Tim Lehman: Also opened the batting this season scoring 172 at 14.33. Tim also bowled 1st change a lot of the season taking 10 wickets. Dylan Krasny: Wasn’t with us all season but when he was there we noticed him he scored 140 runs at 70.00 and took 5 wickets. Nathan Gegg: Nathan was a keeper all season he made a very hard job look easy he took 9 catches and 1 stumping. He also batted in the middle order scoring 139 runs at 12.64. Marcus Dale: Was someone I could always turn to when I need a change in the bowling his line a length made him very hard to play he took 17 wickets. With the bat he scored 105 runs at 9.55. Robert Garland: Floated around the middle order for most of the season scoring 74 runs at 8.22 and also took 6 catches in the field. Peter Woodfield: Missed a lot of the season due to the HSC and over season travel. Pete scored 56 runs at 14.00 and took 5 wickets. Lee Jefferson: has a lot of passion for his cricket. He’s a bowler I could always rely on to get the job done. He took 9 wickets this season. He batted at the tail but he always chipped in the last few runs we always needed he score 55 runs at 6.88 Eddie Jansen: Eddie batted in the tail order but proved he could bat much higher scoring 45 runs at 45.00. He also took 2 catches. Danny Stibbard: Was another bowler I could turn to when I needed the job done. He took 6 wickets. With the bat he always chipped in scoring 29 runs at 5.80. Dave Jansen: Dave show huge potential with the ball he could get it to swing both ways which made him very hard to play. He took 7 wickets. With the bat well there’s not too much that can be said. He always tried though.

So that’s it for season 2009/10. I would like to thank all the boys for making it a enjoyable season and I hope to see you all next season.
