Introduction
Words that refer to an action, an event or a state of being are called Verbs. Sentence are incomplete without verbs. Verbs are one of the first things we learn about when we begin to study English language. Verbs tells us what nouns do and are one of the building blocks of English Grammar.
Verbs are classified into three broad categories they are:
1.Main verbs a) Transitive verbs b) Intransitive verbs
2. Auxiliary verbs a) Non modal verbs b) Modal auxiliary verbs
3.Non-finite verbs 2
a) Infinitives b) Participles c) Gerunds
