Dolomites Slow Travel | Steiner Touring DOLOMITES CLASSIC (7-NIGHT STAY) . Our " Dolomites Classic" tour brings together the best of all that our home region has to offer - the absolute highlights of the Dolomites, and various little-known insider tips. This tour offers a combination of real experience of nature, and insights into all sorts of aspects of the local culture and history, including easy hiking tours, authentic encounters, traditional culinary delights and impressive panoramas. from € 1.011,00 / person Day 1: Individual arrival and check-in at your accommodation. Arrival and check-in at our family-run partner hotel in the Pragser Tal valley. Private transfer from the airport/station can be booked separately on request. Day 2: Plätzwiese plateau, Strudelkopf mountain and Pragser Wildsee lake We begin the week in the Pragser Tal valley, with a hike that takes us on to the Strudelkopf mountain with its unparalleled panoramic views, and to the famous Plätzwiese high plateau, where we enjoy lunch in a typical alpine hut at 2000 m above sea level. And not to be missed either, of course, is the absolute highlight of the Pragser Tal valley - the Pragser Wildsee lake, with its emerald-green waters set against the magnificent backdrop of the Seekofel mountain. Day 3: Alta Badia: the culture of the Ladin valleys. The third day takes us to the heart of the Dolomites - into the Ladin Alta Badia (Hochabteital) valley. On the course of our hike, we learn all sorts of things about the Ladin culture, language and tradition. At a farmhouse that somehow manages to bridge the gap perfectly between past and future, we can expect a culinary highlight: an artful new interpretation of the traditional South Tyrolean Marende - an afternoon snack with home-grown and home-made Ladin specialities. The farm itself is a protected historical monument, captivating with its traditional architecture. Equally enchanting are your utterly genuine hosts here, who have perfected the art of living in both past and future. Day 4: In the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site: Tofane, Cinque Torri & Cortina d'Ampezzo Mountains you can reach out and touch. We spend Day 3 in the heart of the Dolomites. Throughout our hike, we are surrounded by the majestic rock formations of Tofane and Cinque Torri (" five towers" ). We stop for lunch in a rustic mountain refuge. In the afternoon, we take a detour to enjoy the Italian flair of Cortina d'Ampezzo, the site of the 1956 Winter Olympics. Day 5: A day at your leisure This day is free, for you to do as you wish. We have put together some suggestions for all those wanting to take home even more unforgettable experiences. Our personal tip: a sunrise tour with breakfast at a traditional alpine refuge. > To the optional extras Day 6: Drei Zinnen/Three Peaks Anyone who has been to the Dolomites simply has to have seen these, and our goal today is that most famous landmark of the Dolomites - the Drei Zinnen, or "Three peaks" . This unique rock formation is presumably one of the features that led to the Dolomites being declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We do however avoid the beaten tourist track as far as possible as we hike in the Dolomites, and can thus immerse ourselves completely in the majestic beauty of the mountain scenery. And lunch? Definitely something to be savoured, in a traditional mountain refuge. Day 7: Unique Dolomite panoramas: Kronplatz mountain What awaits you on the last day of the trip are the spectacular panoramic views to be had from the Kronplatz mountain, one of South Tyrol's most beautiful viewing points. After an easy hike, we will enjoy both lunch and the breathtaking views from 2275 m above sea level, at the AlpiNN - Food Space & Restaurant, designed and managed by the 3-star chef Norbert Niederkofler. At the LUMEN Museum of Mountain Photography, we can then plunge into the fascinating world of the mountains. Located in the former mountain cable car station on the Kronplatz mountain, the museum provides an insight into the history of mountain photography from its origins to the present day, with an exhibition covering a total of 1800 mon four floors.
