• Sennybridge and Trecastle is located in consisting of a population of 1,703 in 2011 - this is a 10.2% increase from 1991 suggesting population growth in the area has been fairly good, though it declined from a high of 1,786 in 2001. • Compared to other rural areas of , Sennybridge and Trecastle has a rather low population density of 0.1 persons/hectare which has remained consistent since 2001. • The population is less fluent in Welsh than other rural areas of Wales and has seen a slight decline from 2001 to 2011. • There has been a decline in the percentage of young persons in the area (20/19% in 2001 to

16% in 2011) coupled with a steady increase in the percentage of 45-64 year olds.

• Sennybridge and Trecastle performs better than the Welsh average on almost all police recorded incidents indicators for which data is available except for fire incidences across both 2014 and 2019. • Despite this better than average performance, violent crime (+0.94 per 100), criminal damage (+0.12), and fire incidences (+0.37 per 100) have increased from 2014 to 2019. • Anti social behaviour has however declined.

• There is a decline in the percentage of managers, directors and senior officials to 11.9% in 2011 but an increase in the percentage of professional occupations to 14.8% as well as those in skilled trades as well as caring, leisure and other service occupations, and those in sales and customer service occupations. • Those in skilled trades occupations in Sennybridge and Trecastle is much higher than the rural average in 2011 at 26.2% compared to 18.3%.
