Local Committee Stage Their First Virtual Eisteddfod
Local committee stage their first virtual eisteddfod
Trallong Eisteddfod is traditionally held on the first Saturday in November. However, owing to the continuing coronavirus-pandemic the committee arranged a virtual eisteddfod with a limited number of the most popular classes covering singing, reciting and written work. They received over 100 entries in total from the twelve classes on offer. The videos were collated and sent to the adjudicators, Rhiannon Lewis of Cwmann for the music competitions and Ydwena Jones of Llanhamlach for the literature section. We are extremely grateful to these two ladies for their work. The written work was very well represented with 23 sentences and 27 limericks coming forward to be judged along with good entries in the other competitions. On what should have been eisteddfod day the winning entries were announced throughout the afternoon and evening. Our chairman, Marilyn Jones, was responsible for the co-ordination of this. We are so grateful to all our competitors for their support this year. We hope to be able to stage a normal eisteddfod in 2021. The detailed results appear below: -
