• The small and extremely popular town of Crickhowell has an excellent range of shops, schools and inns, whilst the nearby market town of Abergavenny provides a greater choice including a large Waitrose. • Abergavenny has a rail station with good connections to London Paddington via Newport.

• The area is famed for its beauty and recreational opportunities. These include fishing on the River Usk; golf courses at Abergavenny, Brecon and Monmouth; and Breconshire Canal runs very close by and there is unsurpassed walking throughout the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons. Pen-y-Pentre • Pen-y-Pentre was formerly two cottages with an adjoining barn used for the storage of wool but is now one substantial house.

• Listed Grade II, the house dates back to the 17th Century and sits well in its grounds with gardens to three sides.

• It is entered from a flagstone pathway through a pair of part glazed doors, the main to a staircase hall with doors off to the sitting and dining rooms. There are exposed beams, Inglenooks, fireplaces with gas effect stoves, and the large drawing room which was more recently converted from the barn is particularly impressive.

• To the rear is the large inner hall with the oil fired boiler, various cupboards, a cloakroom and door through to the kitchen with fully fitted units including a central island and the former kitchen range.

• Stairs lead up to a long landing with polished floor boards and doors off to the three well-proportioned bedrooms, one having an en-suite bathroom, whilst there is also a large family shower room.
