Andrew M. Marotta Deputy Chief, Future Commercial Discoveries and Assessments Office National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency

Mr. Andrew Marotta serves as Deputy Chief, Commercial Discoveries and Assessments Office, where he leads 50 personnel charged with championing the growing value of commercial GEOINT for the Nation by orchestrating the means to discover, assess and integrate authoritative commercial content and services.

Mr. Marotta earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from Siena College in May 1979. In August 1985, he completed a Master’s in Business Administration from Louisiana Tech and in June 2003 a Master’s of Science in Strategic Resources from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. He is also a graduate of Squadron Officers School, Air Command and Staff College and Air War College.

Following Undergraduate Navigator Training at , California, 2Lt Marotta was assigned to the 62 Bombardment Squadron at , Louisiana, as a B-52 Electronic Warfare Officer. In March 1986, Capt Marotta was assigned to the 43 Bombardment Wing at , . In November 1987, he was assigned to the B-52 Combat Crew Training School and 330th Combat Flight Instructor Squadron, , California.

Maj Marotta was assigned to the European Electronic Security Division in November 1990; collocated with United States Air Forces Europe at Ramstein Air Base Germany, where he served as Chief of Offensive Countermeasures and worked closely with the EC-130 COMPASS CALL and RC-135 RIVET JOINT communities.

Maj Marotta was assigned to , Nebraska in May 1994 where he qualified on the RC- 135S, COBRA BALL and RC-135V/W RIVET JOINT. In July 1995, he served as 97th Intelligence Squadron Operations Officer and in August 1996 he was selected as the 82nd Reconnaissance Squadron (RS), Operations Officer, . Lt Col Marotta commanded both the 4407 RS at Prince Sultan Air Base Saudi Arabia and the 82nd RS from Jan 1998 to May 2000. He also commanded the 55th Air Expeditionary Group for multiple deployments across the Pacific.

Lt Col Marotta was assigned to the Pentagon from June 2000 to July 2002 as Assistant Deputy Director, Electronic Warfare Division. He attended the Industrial College of the Armed Forces at National Defense University, Fort McNair from August 2002 until June of 2003. Upon promotion to Col, he was assigned to NGA as AF NGA Support Team Chief and Director, Office of Military Support from June 2003 until July 2006. He retired after 26 years active duty and entered federal government service in Jul 2006.

Since 2006, Mr. Marotta has served as a Federal employee in a variety of NGA positions to include Chief, Future Warfare Division; Deputy Chief, Future Capabilities Office; and Deputy Chief Commercial Discoveries and Assessments Office.

Mr. Marotta, his wife Paris and three children reside in Northern, Virginia.
