Brigadier General Paul J. Rock Jr. Commanding General Marine Corps Installations Pacific Marine Corps

On 27 June 2017, BGen Rock became the 27th Commanding General of Marine Corps Installations Pacific-Marine Corps Base Camp Smedley D. Butler.

Brigadier General Rock was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in 1988 upon graduation from the US Naval Academy. Designated a Naval Aviator in 1990, he flew the CH-46E Sea Knight while serving in HMM-263, MAG-29, 2dMAWduring operational deployments to the Mediterranean, eastern Africa, the Persian Gulf, and the former Republic of Yugoslavia (1991-95). Following duty as the Air Officer for 3rd Bn, 8thMar, 2dMarDiv (1995- 96), he returned to the cockpit as a flight instructor at HMT-204 (1997).

His involvement with the MV-22 Osprey commenced with operational testing at HMX-1 (1997-2000) and as an instructor at VMMT-204 (2000-03). He was then selected as the “plank owner” Aircraft Maintenance Officer for the standup of the Corps’ dedicated operational test squadron, VMX-22 (2003-2005). He next reported to the 2d MAW(Forward) staff in G-3 (Plans) and deployed to (2005). Upon his return, he took command of VMM-263, the Marine Corps’ first operationalMV-22B squadron, and again deployed to Iraq in support of OIF (2006-2008).

After relinquishing command of VMM-263, BGen Rock attended the National War College and then took command ofVMMT-204, the Joint USMC/USAFMV-22B training squadron (2008-11). That command tour was followed by duty in the J-5 Strategic Plans and Policy Directorate (Deputy Directorate-Asia) of the Joint Staff (2011-13). He then became the Aviation Expeditionary Enabler Branch Chief and V-22 Cell Lead at Headquarters Marine Corps (2013-14).

In July 2014, BGen Rock became the Assistant Wing Commander of 2d Marine Aircraft Wing (2dMAW) before taking over as the Commanding General of 2dMAWin June 2015. Prior to taking Command of Marine Corps Installations Pacific, BGen Rock served as US Southern Command’s J5 - Director of Strategy, Policy, & Plans.

BGen Rock’s personal awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal with one gold star, Air Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and various unit/campaign awards.

Colonel Theodore O. White Commanding Officer, 10th Support Group

Colonel Theodore O. White, a native of Cleveland, Ohio was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Quartermaster Corps through the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University Army ROTC program. He holds a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and a Master of Business Administration from Vanderbilt University. He is a graduate of the Quartermaster Officer Basic Course, Quartermaster Officer Advance Course, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, and U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy. Colonel Thang T. Doan Commander, 18th Mission Support Group

Colonel Thang “Tom” Doan serves as the 18th Mission Support Group Commander, Kadena Air Base, Japan. He leads the largest group in the U.S. Air Force with a direct budget of $7 million, $450 million of assets, and 4,200 military and civilian members comprising five squadrons. The group is also responsible for the operation of the Okuma Recreation Facility on Okinawa as well as the Bellows Air Force Station Recreation Facility in Hawaii.

Colonel Doan earned his commission in May 1996 through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program at Arizona State University. He has since held transportation and logistics positions in the , , United States Central Command, Headquarters Air Force, Air Education & Training Command, United States Air Forces in Europe, United States Transportation Command, and Air Force Special Operations Command.

Lieutenant Colonel Andrew J. Glass Commander, 18th Contracting Squadron, Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan United States Air Force

Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Glass is the Commander, 18th Contracting Squadron, Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan. He leads an 87-member joint and multi-national unit in the execution of a $1B contract portfolio providing operational contracting support to the and units Okinawa-wide, including the US Army, US Navy, US Marine Corps, Defense Commissary Agency and Department of Defense Dependent Schools. The squadron’s annual obligations exceed $160 million and provide nonorganic mission-essential and quality-of-life supplies and services, including construction, to enable seamless mission execution by US Forces Japan throughout INDOPACOM.

Prior to his current assignment, Lieutenant Colonel Glass served as the Chief, Contracting Field Support Branch, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Contracting, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.

He has served in various contracting assignments and leadership positions at Air Force, Center, Wing and Squadron levels. Lieutenant Colonel Glass previously commanded the 355th Contracting Squadron at Davis-Monthan AFB and completed a tour as business advisor to senior decision makers from across the NRO, DoD, CIA, NGA and other executive agencies. He initially served as a Special Agent with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations then transitioned into acquisitions. He holds a Level III Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) certification in Contracting and a Level I certification in Program Management.

Lieutenant Colonel Glass received his Air Force commission in 2001 through the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) at Brigham Young University. He is married to the former Jana Mabray and has four children, Carter (15 yrs), Kallie (13 yrs), Ethan (10 yrs) and Emelyn (8 yrs).

Captain Scott A. Hardy Commander, Fleet Activities Okinawa

The son of an Army Master Sgt., Cpt. Scott “Cooter” Hardy enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1986 attending boot camp at MCRD San Diego. His tours included HMH-462 in Tustin, and HMX-1 in Quantico, Virginia where he supported Presidents Reagan and Bush Sr. from 1987 to 1991. After transitioning to the Marine Reserves, he attended Texas A&M University graduating in 1994. In the summer of 1995 he attended Officer Candidate School (OCS) at NAS Pensacola, Florida and was designated a Naval Flight Officer in 1997.

CAPT Hardy’s operational sea tours include a flag air ops tour with Carrier Strike Group Eleven (CCSG-11), on USS Nimitz (CVN 68) from 2014 to 2016; commanding officer tour with the Patriots of VAQ-140 in NAS Whidbey Island, Washington from Jan 2014 to Jun 2014; commanding officer tour with the Gauntlets of VAQ-136 at NAF Atsugi, Japan on USS George Washington (CVN 73) and NAS Whidbey Island, Washington for transition from the EA-6B to the EA-18G from 2011 to 2014; department head tour with VAQ-135 Black Ravens with CVW-11, on USS Nimitz (CVN 68) from 2006 to 2009; junior officer tour with the Gauntlets of VAQ-136 at NAF Atsugi, Japan and aboard USS Independence (CV 62) and USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) from 1998 to 2001.

His Individual Augmentee (IA) tours include Joint CREW Composite Squadron One (JCCS-1) in Baghdad, Iraq as the assistant director of training from 2009 to 2010 and as future operations officer for COMUSNAVCENT, Bahrain from 2003 to 2005.

His shore tours include department head tour for HAVOC, the EA-18G Airborne Electronic Attack Weapons School, at the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center in Fallon, Nevada from 2016 to 2018; instructor tour with the EA-6B Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS) at NAS Whidbey Island, Washington from 2010 to 2011; Air Command and Staff College in Montgomery, Alabama earning a Masters of Military Science from 2005 to 2006; instructor tour with the EA-6B Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS) at NAS Whidbey Island, Washington from 2001 to 2003.

He has accumulated over 2500 hours in the EA-6B and EA-18G aircraft and 845 carrier arrestments. He holds eight personal decorations and numerous other citations.

Hardy assumed duties as commander of Fleet Activities Okinawa in February 2019.
