Ruxandra DONOSE - , Austria

Among the most renowned singers of her generation, Ruxandra Donose has captured critical and popular acclaim in leading opera houses and concert halls around the world, including the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, the , New York, San Francisco Opera, Opéra National de , , Berlin Staatsoper, Los Angeles Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Teatro Real Madrid and Tokyo. She has worked with such conductors as , Sergiu Celibidache, Seiji Ozawa, , Sir , , Christoph von Dohnanyi, , Donald Runnicles, and and has numerous recording to her name.

In 2016/2017 Ruxandra has returned to Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre for Rodelinda and Rosenkavalier, to Züricher Opernhaus for Orest by Manfred Trojahn, in which she made a highly acclaimed debut as Elektra and to Grand Theatre de Genève for Norma, as well as many other other concerts, in , London, Paris and others. She started the last season returning to the Royal Opera Covent Garden in the role of the Komponist in Ariadne auf Naxos, also appearing in three concerts with the Philarmonia Orchestra under Christoph von Dohnany in Dortmud, Köln and London with Beethoven's Symphony no 9, giving a Lied recital in Santiago de Compostella with Roger Vignoles, and singing Das Lied von der Erde by Mahler with the Monte Carlo Philarmony in the Enescu Festival. She also recorded Arminio by Händel , for DECCA. Later in the season, she participated at the Händel Festival in Karslruhe, presenting Arminio in a new production, as well as returning to Paris, Versailles and Vienna with Händel's Tamerlano. Another new Händel opera was Rodelinda which she performed at the Balshoi Theatre in Moscow. Other highlights include Berlioz Damnation de Faust with Dallas Symphony, and with Cleveland Symphony, as well as another new role, Donizetti's La Favorita with the National Radio Orchestra in Bucharest. She concluded last season with a much acclaimed debut as the Princess Eboli in Verdi's Don Carlo, at the Grange Park Opera festival, under the baton of Gianluca Marciano. The previous season, she was heard in London in concert with Philharmonia Orchestra and Edward Gardner singing La mort de Cléopâtre and then at Royal Opera House as Komponist in Ariadne auf Naxos.

She recorded the role of Irene Tamerlano for Naïve and that of Jupiter in Caldara’s rediscovered opera La Concordia dei Pianeti for and appeared in concert performances of Verdi Requiem in Prague, Mozart Requiem with BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Gurreliedier with Orquestra Sinfonica de Mineria in Mexico City, and a European tour with Liège Philarmonie singing Les nuits d’été and La mort de Cléopâtre. She also made her Verbier Festival debut as Marguerite in La Damnation de Faust. In 2014/15 she makes two roles debuts as Arsace from Semiramide in Lyon and Paris under the baton of Evelino Pidò and as Bradamante in Alcina at Royal Danish Opera. In Genève she stars as La Grande Duchesse de Gerlostein in a new production by Laurent Pelly and makes her Gran Teatre del Liceu debut in Così fan tutte. On the concert platform she sings Shéhérazade with SWR Sinfonieorchester; La Damnation de Faust in Cleveland with Charles Dutoit and continues the tour of Tamerlano with appereances in Vienna, Hamburg and Krakow. Recent highlights include Carmen in the UK premiere of Calixto Bieito’s production at English National Opera, Idamante from Idomeneo at the Ravinia Festival with James Conlon and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Octavian in Der Rosenkavalier at Cincinnati Opera and Donna Elvira in a new production of Don Giovanni at Opéra de Dijon; Dorabella Così fan tutte for Los Angeles Opera, Donna Elvira for the Royal Opera House, Tamiri in a new production of Vivaldi ś Il Farnace in Paris, Strasbourg and Mulhouse and Marguerite La Damntion de Faust in a staged production in Seattle, Nicklausse at the Metropolitan in New York, Donna Elvira and The in Ariadne auf Naxos for Deutsche Oper Berlin (powered by TCPDF www.tcpdf.org), Octavian for Bayerische Staatsoper, a new production of La Cenerentola for Opéra de Nice and Carmen at Cincinnati Opera and Romanian National Opera.

Ruxandra Donose also performed with at the Singapore Sun Festival and with in Vienna and Moscow and garnered high acclaim for her recital at the Grünewald Hall in Stockholm. She has sung in concert performances of La Damnation de Faust with Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks in , Tokyo, San Francisco, London, and Amsterdam. She made her debut with BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra with Berlioz ś La mort de Cléopâtre and sang Rossini's Stabat Mater at Royal Festival Hall with London Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Yannick Nézet-Séguin and L’heure espagnole with London Symphony Orchestra and Josep Pons at the Barbican. In the US, Donose made her debut in performances of Nicklausse with San Francisco Opera in a new production of Les Contes d’Hoffmann which led to her immediate re-engagment for the title role of L’incoronazione di Poppea and Sesto. She made her debut at the Metropolitan Opera as Cherubino, a role she repeated in her debut in Japan with the Saito Kinen Festival under the baton of Seiji Ozawa, and in 2008 appeared at Los Angeles Opera in the American premiere of the opera The Fly. A highly demanded concert singer, Ruxandra Donose has appeared with many leading orchestras around the world. The role of Marguerite in La Damnation de Faust has featured prominently in her concert career, with performances with the Berlin Sinfonie-Orchester, , the Tonhalle Orchestra in Zürich, Orchestre National du Capitôle in both Toulouse and Valencia and Orchestre de Paris. In North America the mezzo-soprano first appeared with the Orchestra in Bach’s Magnificat. She has appeared at the (La Damnation de Faust and Concepción L’heure espagnole) and with Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal (La Damnation de Faust), Boston Symphony Orchestra (Hansel), Minnesota Orchestra (Les nuits d’été), Pittsburg Symphony (Mozart’s Requiem) and Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen in Hong Kong.
