Our specialisms of Sport & Science are designed to raise the aspirations of all our students and to target the wider community. We believe that the positive influence of physical activity and the investigative qualities of science are a powerful force for school improvement that help young people in the academy develop life-time habits and skills. Students have access to first class sports facilities, coaching and training to participate in sports at a level best suited to their interests and abilities. We build on successes, encouraging and supporting our young people to try new activities, develop their talents and enjoy both the social benefits and competitive successes that participation in sport can offer. Students have a minimum of two hours of physical education per week, which incorporates health and fitness as a key aspect of the curriculum. This is reinforced with an encompassing extra-curricular programme of both recreational and competitive sport. Our Science specialism aims to create a challenging environment to raise standards of achievement and the quality of teaching and learning in science for all students, leading to whole school improvements in performance. We provide excellent facilities across the full range of science subjects. Staff actively encourage students to discover and enjoy the rewards of scientific discovery through inventive strategies, developing deeper understanding. We encourage students to pursue science beyond the age of 16, providing appropriate learning pathways so they develop the skills needed to progress into employment, further training or higher education. JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Reprographics Apprentice Department: Administration Responsible to: Reprographics Technician, PA to Head of Academy Grade: Level 2 / Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship Contract: Fixed term contract (duration determined by apprenticeship level and applicant experience, between 15 and 22 months) Hours: 37 per week, term time plus 2 weeks holiday working Job Purpose To provide reprographic support to ensure an efficient printing, photocopying and document publishing service for academy students and staff. To provide other administrative support in line with academy policies and processes, conributing to the smooth running of the administration department. To complete training as per the apprenticeship specification, using work experience gained to support this. Training During the 12-18 months of the apprenticeship you will be assigned an Assessor and will undertake an NVQ Business Administration Level 2 or Level 3. You may also be required to complete Literacy, Numeracy and IT Functional Skills (this will be determined by existing qualifications). Training will be mainly through workplace assessment which will take place monthly. Safeguarding Our academies are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment Main Tasks (After receiving appropriate training and guidance) 1. Reprographics Support 1.1 To undertake high-volume printing, copying, laminating, binding, cutting, 1.2 To operate heavy duty machinery including photocopiers, punches, guillotines etc 1.3 To replenish photocopiers with paper and toner on a daily basis. 1.4 To keep all reprographics machinery clean and in good working order. 1.5 To loan out the Academy camera and label printer 1.6 To issue stock to staff and students as requested 1.7 To monitor and replenish stocks of staffroom forms and Reprographics labels 1.8 To take photographs and issue cards for students and staff and maintain supplies of cards and card holders 1.9 To record all work undertaken and resources used. 1.10 To complete purchase orders for supplies. 1.11 To update lists for tutor group, pastoral lists and staff lists 1.12 To update staff pigeonhole labelling 1.13 To record books and copyrighted materials copied, having awareness of copyright legislation 1.14 To set up mail merges for certificates, letters and labels 1.15 To follow processes for administration tasks using the t-card system 2. Other Administrative Support 2.1 To provide cover in main reception - welcoming guests, answering and directing telephone calls and emails 2.2 To support the Administration Team - typing letters, inputting data, maintaining accurate records and assisting with administration of events. 2.3 To undertake scanning and uploading of student files to a Document Management System 2.4 To follow processes for administration tasks using the t-card system 3. Apprenticeship (an average of 5 hours per week will be allocated to completing training and assessment material plus 2-3 hours assessment every month). 3.1 To complete all assessment material in the given timescales, requesting help when needed. 3.2 To meet with the Apprenticeship Assessor and Internal Verifier as required 3.3 To complete training sessions when required 4. General 4.1 To attend required meetings and training sessions 4.2 To comply with individual responsibilities for health & safety in the workplace 4.3 To ensure that all duties and services provided are in accordance with the academies‟ Equal Opportunities Policy 4.4 To maintain confidentiality in all academy related matters 4.5 To undertake any other duties commensurate with the post, as directed by Line Manager NOTES 1. The above responsibilities are subject to the general duties and responsibilities contained in the statement of Conditions of Employment. 2. This job description allocates duties and responsibilities but does not direct the particular amount of time to be spent on carrying them out and no part of it may be so construed 3.     Review of the Year 2016-2017 ©2017 The Change Project Foreword This year has seen unprecedented developments for the Change Project. It has been exciting and exhilarating, as well as challenging and demanding for all of the team. In the year of this review we were still Relate North Essex & East Herts; that changed on 01 June 2017. Having been closely involved with the changes occurring in the Relate Federation over 2016, the Board took the decision to resign our membership of the Federation in January 2017, citing that this was considered to be in the best long term interests of the clients we serve. On 01 June 2017 the charity was renamed and became The Change Portfolio, trading as The Change Project. We continue to deliver the range of services that we are best known for, including domestic violence prevention services, counselling, sex therapy, and training programmes. Our work in the field of domestic violence and abuse continued to grow and evolve. This year saw the successful rollout of domestic violence prevention programmes for perpetrators to Bedford, and Luton, in addition to our established programmes in Hertfordshire and Essex. We continued to receive positive feedback about our delivery of basic and advanced Domestic Violence awareness training to multi-disciplinary professionals. Since 2016 we’ve been running one of three UK pilot areas for The Drive Project, a 3 year venture that challenges perpetrators of domestic abuse. This new model of intervention aims to fundamentally change perpetrator behaviour to make victims and families safe. We are privileged to be part of this ground-breaking pilot and are striving to offer the best practice to inform the evaluation.

We are passionate about ensuring that, individually, we are continually improving and challenging ourselves and as an academy, striving towards our vision ‘To make our best better’ and become a great school. Aylward is a community academy based in a deprived area of North London. Since its foundation in 2010 it has dedicated itself to the education of young people from the local area, driving the Value Added score up to 1029. There is now a waiting list for year 7 entrants and the sixth form has grown from 30 to just under 300. The academy opened in 2010 with an Ofsted notice to improve and in an extremely short time were graded good in a 2012 inspection. The most recent inspection conducted in the summer of 2016 confirmed the school continues to be good whilst also identifying outstanding features. In 2012 the Ofsted report confirmed that, “Students are well motivated in their learning and their behaviour is good”. It also stated that, “Teachers plan well- structured lessons in line with students’ abilities and this adds to their enjoyment of learning”.
