ARCS; due to recent snowfall, icy and cold weather in Taluqan city of Takhar province 2 water canals have been frozen and the water direction of the frozen canals diverted towards communities houses, an assessment team consisting ANMDA, Mission East, ARCS, WFP PAD monitoring and DR&R has conducted assessment, Details; 1. On 3 Feb.014 the Quchi village canal in Ahandara area of Taluqan frozen and the frozen canal water direction diverted towards the communities’ houses at the result 5 houses have been partially damaged. 2. On 4 Feb.014 due to frozen of Nahri sayed canal in Taluqan city the water direction has been changed towards Communities houses, at the result the following four villages have been affected; 1- Baba Zarif village, 2- Nahri Sayed village, 3- Nahri Chaman village, and 4- Shorab village Totally there was 31 houses affected out of 31 affected houses, 7 houses have been destroyed completely and 24 houses partially destroyed and IOM, WFP, ANDMA and ARCS have responded the affected families. 7 houses were completely destroyed but it was mistakenly written 6 houses therefore in case there is required they will correct the RAF for 7 houses.
