To our premiership winning teams and individual award winners, congratulations on your achievements. To all our players and team officials across the association, thank you for the great spirit which you all exhibited in participating in our great competition. To my fellow members of our SSJCA Committee, thank you for your commitment throughout the season. Much of the work this team of volunteers puts into our game will never be seen, and perhaps never recognised. I thank you for all your time and effort. That said, it would be remiss of me if I didn’t mention Tom Croucher. Tom is stepping down as Competition Manager after this season after 13 years in the role. We hopefully don’t lose him entirely as he is standing for the Committee in another capacity, but his contribution as Competition Manager deserves special recognition now. Tom’s efforts and standing within the broader NSW cricket community is a major driver behind our becoming one of the stronger junior cricket competitions. His work on developing and administering our competition, managing our grounds allocations, coordinating our infrastructure works and developing our Cricket Online portal, is peerless. Lastly, but in no way the least, a huge thank you to our vast network of volunteers – club coaches, managers, scorers, team helpers, ‘bus’ drivers, officials and supporters – there is no weekly cricket without you. I am sure each and every one of you is appreciated by the junior cricketers of the Shire.
