Funds will allow the Union to expand their cultivation plot to 2 hectares by installing a new irrigation system and building a fence around it to protect it from roaming animals.. Coopérative El Emen Berbâré 2014-2017 $85,527 Sector: Agriculture (Vegetables) 3163-MRT Town/City: Wilaya Hodhs -El- Gharbi Summary: The project funds will be used to install a new irrigation system and fence it to protect it from roaming animals. The Cooperative will set up a borehole extraction system to provide a reliable and constant source of water to the production perimeter. These activities will enable Cooperative members to dramatically increase the volume of vegetables sold and the profit earned by group members. Union des Coopératives Raja de 2014-2017 $98,952 Sector: Agriculture (Vegetables) Gaat Teydouma Town/City: Wilaya Hodhs -El- Gharbi 3166-MRT Summary: The project funds will be used to allow the Union to expand its cultivation plot to three hectares by installing a new irrigation system and building a fence around it to protect it from roaming animals. This expansion will enable Union members to dramatically increase the volume of vegetables sold and the profit earned by group members. These activities will enable Cooperative members to dramatically increase the volume of balanites processed and the profit earned by group members. Additionally, training in financial and organizational management and literacy will be provided to help the organization improve its capacity and become sustainable. This Project is a collaborative effort with several other institutions including the United Nations Development Program, The Association for the Development and the Promotion of Human Rights and Tooga, a private company. Diougoudiam 2016-2018 $98,112 Sector: Agriculture (Vegetables) 4321-MRT Town/City: Selibaby Commune, Guidimakha Region Summary: The project funds will be used to install a new irrigation system and fence to protect it from roaming animals. Members will also benefit from improved equipment for their women’s center for sewing and embroidery activities. Gole Ko Law 2016-2018 $93,829 Sector: Agriculture (Vegetables and Fruit) 4363-MRT Town/City: M’Bagne Commune, Brakna Region Summary: The project funds will be used to redevelop the Cooperative's land, including the renovation of their irrigation system and purchase a pump to supply consistent water from the nearby river. They will construct a fortified fence to protect the field from roaming animals and invest in the establishment of a fruit tree orchard. Danyal-Teidouma 2016-2018 $76,092 Sector: Agriculture (Vegetables) 4364-MRT Town/City: Maghama Commune, Gorgol Region Summary: The project funds will be used to install a new irrigation system and fence it to protect it from roaming animals. Members will also benefit from the purchase of a grain mill as an additional income generating activity. The Union will also purchase a truck to ensure reliable transportation of product from the members to headquarters as well as to regional markets.
