Norbert Haug Norbert Haug War Über 22 Jahre Motorsportchef Von Mercedes-Benz INDUSTRIE, WIRTSCHAFT & FINANZEN Norbert Haug Norbert Haug war über 22 Jahre Motorsportchef von Mercedes-Benz. Unter seiner Leitung gewann Mercedes mit seinen Partnerteams zwischen 1998 und 2009 insgesamt vier Formel- 1-Fahrer- und zwei Konstrukteur-Weltmeistertitel. In der DTM siegte Mercedes unter der Füh- rung von Norbert Haug zwischen 1991 und 2012 gegen namhafte Werksteams wie Audi, Alfa Romeo, BMW und Opel öfter als sämtliche Wettbewerber zusammen. Mercedes wurde damit zur siegreichsten Marke der DTM. Von über 900 Rennen in allen wichtigen Motorsport-Kategorien gewann Mercedes unter Haugs Leitung über 400, davon über 80 in der Formel 1 und über 140 in der DTM. Unter seiner Regie wurden die Formel-1-Silberpfeile auf den Weg gebracht, die 1998 und 1999 mit Partner McLaren und Mika Häkkinen und 2008 mit Lewis Hamilton den Formel-1-Weltmeistertitel gewannen. 2014, im Jahr nach Haugs Abschied wurde Mercedes mit seinem Silberpfeil-Werksteam mit Lewis Hamilton und Nico Rosberg Doppelweltmeister. While on the subject of Rockingham, our regional training weekend will again be at the circuit and although the final date has to still be agreed, it will hopefully be in mid to late February.

The event heralds the launch of the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team, which Vodafone is joining as Title Sponsor and Official Mobile Partner. Fernando and Lewis, who form one of the youngest driver line-ups in the history of the sport, will unveil the new livery to an expected crowd of more than 150,000 on a bespoke circuit around the Ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias in two MP4-21 race cars. This will be followed by the unveiling of the 2007 car, the MP4-22, which Fernando and Lewis will use to contest this year's Formula 1 World Championship. The 2007 challengers will conduct a shakedown test at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo, Valencia, on Wednesday 17th January. The intensive pre-season testing programme will then commence on Wednesday 24th January at the same track. Pedro de la Rosa and Gary Paffett join Fernando and Lewis to complete the driver line-up. Pedro and Gary, who are starting their fifth and second years with the team respectively, will continue to support the ongoing technical development of the MP4-22 package during the course of the year alongside Fernando and Lewis. “This is a fantastic day for me - I am really proud to be introducing myself as a Vodafone McLaren Mercedes driver in my home country, and of course to help present my new team to the Spanish fans,” said double World Champion Fernando.
