Their Luisa, their Saint, was no more. And like a river in full spate they poured into Luisa’s house to look at her and express their affection to her, for so many years esteemed and beloved by all. -
Godność Człowieka I Dobro Wspólne W Papieskim Nauczaniu Społecznym
Rozdział III Godność człowieka i dobro wspólne w nauczaniu papieskim w latach 1878−1958 1. Leon XIII i fundamenty papieskiego nauczania o godności człowieka i dobru wspólnym Nikomu nie wolno naruszać bezkarnie tej godności człowie- ka, którą sam Bóg z wielka czcią rozporządza899. Cel bowiem wytknięty państwu dotyczy wszystkich oby- wateli, bo jest nim dobro powszechne, w którym uczestni- czyć mają prawo wszyscy razem i każdy z osobna, w części należnej900. Wybrany 20 lutego 1878 r. na papieża arcybiskup Perugii, kardynał Vincenzo Gioacchi- no Aloiso Pecci (1810−1903) przybrał imię Leona XIII. Catholic Social Teaching Edited by Gerard V
Cambridge University Press 978-1-316-51360-6 — Catholic Social Teaching Edited by Gerard V. Bradley , E. Christian Brugger Frontmatter More Information catholic social teaching Catholic Social Teaching (CST) refers to the corpus of authoritative ecclesiastical teaching, usually in the form of papal encyclicals, on social matters, beginning with Pope Leo XIII’s Rerum Novarum (1891) and running through Pope Francis. CST is not a social science and its texts are not pragmatic primers for social activists. It is a normative exercise of Church teaching, a kind of comprehensive applied – although far from systematic – social moral theology. This volume is a scholarly engagement with this 130-year-old documentary tradition. Its twenty-three essays aim to provide a constructive, historically sophisticated, critical exegesis of all the major (and some of the minor) documents of CST. The volume’s appeal is not limited to Catholics, or even just to those who embrace, or who are seriously interested in, Christianity. Its appeal is to any scholar interested in the history or content of modern CST. Gerard V. Bradley is Professor of Law at the University of Notre Dame. He has been a Visiting Professor of Politics at Princeton University, a Fellow of the Hoover Institution at Stanford, and is currently a Senior Fellow of the Witherspoon Institute. At Notre Dame he is Co-Editor-in-Chief of The American Journal of Jurisprudence and serves as Co-Director of the Natural Law Institute. E. Christian Brugger is Professor of Moral Theology at St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary in Boynton Beach, Florida. He is author of Capital Punishment and Roman Catholic Moral Tradition, 2nd ed. -

* * * I. On the Nature of a Consecration Generally speaking, a consecration means a dedication of persons or things to the divine cult. -
PALABRAS CLAVE Iglesia; Papado; Paz; Guerra Fría; Conflicto; Constructivismo ABSTRACT This academic work consists in a study about the configuration of a new concept of Peace, which will be able to reach stability and real coexistence to the world. For that reason, we will study the Catholic Church’s performance as an international actor in the scenario of the Cold War to see how this new vision of peace was created, while the world was ruled by uncertainty and tension. Following the constructivist theory, the efforts made by the representatives of the Catholic Church (Popes: Pius XII, John XXIII, Paul VI, John Paul I and John Paul II) will be analysed, to see how they created a new Peace’s conception that could overcome the ideas that had put to the world in a spiral of hatred and violence. -

It is a letter intended to travel— to circulate. However in modern times it has become almost exclusively used to denote teachings from the Pope. Comparing an encyclical to other kinds of official Roman Catholic documents is a good way to understand the significance of an encyclical. Firstly, when the pope makes a declaration of some article of faith or moral law it is -
Catholic Doctrine and Teaching Regarding Mary
Catholic Doctrine and Teaching Regarding Mary Mariology is the study of Mary, the mother of Jesus, and of her role in Salvation History. Mary is viewed by Catholics as having a unique dignity among saints. Due to her maternal relationship to Christ and to the fact that she was conceived without original sin, Catholics believe Mary is entitled to Hyperdulia, that is an extraordinary level of veneration, as opposed to Dulia, a Greek term for the honor given to other saints. The field of Mariology includes dogmatic and theological studies of Mary, and also the study of the veneration of Mary in popular piety, including prayer, art, liturgy, hymns, shrines, and other devotions. The tradition of devotions associated with Catholic devotion to Mary are so extensive they require many more pages to expound. This page covers only the following topics as they relate to the Blessed Virgin Mary: 1) Dogmatic and Doctrinal teachings 2) Teachings and Writings of Saints 3) Pronouncements of Popes and Councils Dogmatic Teachings Concerning Mary There are four Marian teachings that have defined as De Fide Definita doctrines, or solemnly pronounced dogmas of the Faith. The Catholic Church teaches many truths about Mary, derived from the scriptures and traditions of the early Church, but only these four doctrines are considered dogmatic teaching. Dogma Magisterial Teaching / Authority Mary is Mother of Jesus who is truly God and Man in one person. — Mother of God Council of Ephesus (431) At the end of her earthly life, Mary was assumed into heavenly glory. — Assumption into Heaven Pope Pius XII (1950) Mary was preserved immaculate from Original Sin at her conception. -

The commentary which follows is from Father Carroll. Pope Pius XII - " Mais de uma vez" (October 31 , 1942) Among the Marian deeds of Pius XII, only the definition of the As sumption exceeds in importance his· consecration of the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This was first done at the close of the radio address to Fatima, October 31, 1942, here translated, then renewed December 8, 1942, in St. Peter's. Subsequently the pope was to refer to the consecration again and again, to urge its renewal by individuals, by families, by parishes, by dioceses, by nations. Mention of it occurs in many important encyclicals, e.g., Mystici corporis (June 29, 1943), Menti Nostrae (on the priesthood, September 23 , 1950),Haurietis aquas (on the Sacred Heart, May 15, 1956).
