İlçe ile ilgili olarak kırsal yerle şmeler ve e ğitim alanında detaylı bilimsel ara ştırmalar yeterince yapılmamı ştır. Bu durum ara ştırmanın temel amacını olu şturmaktadır. Ara ştırmada Kula’daki kırsal yerle şmeler ve e ğitim faaliyetleri nedensellik, sebep-sonuç, da ğılım gibi bilimsel ilkeler dikkate alınarak açıklanmaya çalışılmı ştır. Kula’nın genel özellikleri de ele alınarak, kırsal yerle şmeler ayrı ayrı incelenmi ştir. Özellikle 2006-2007 E ğitim-Öğretim yılında Kula’da e ğitimin da ğılımı, bilimsel ara ştırma yolları kullanılarak incelenilmeye çalı şılmı ştır. iii İlçe ile ilgili inceleme yapılırken basılı kaynaklar, istatistik verileri ve yerinde yapılan gözlemlerden yararlanılmı ştır. 2006-2007 E ğitim-Öğretim yılı bilgi ve istatistikleri Kula İlçe Milli E ğitim Müdürlü ğü’nden temin edilmi ştir. Kırsal yerle şmeler ise tek tek gezilerek incelenmi ştir. Yapılan çalı şma sonucunda Kula’da e ğitimin istenilen ölçüde geli şmedi ği belirlenmi ştir. Kırsal yerle şmelerde ise çe şitli sorunların ya şandı ğı görülmü ştür.
