SITUATION In Moquegua department, up to 7,000 residents need evacuation if Alert Level raised to Red. Ash and gas emissions affected 600 families in 5 villages located in 5-10km radius from volcano. Health problems such as headaches, depression, conjunctivitis, and acute throat Carmen de conditions reported. The accumulation of ash destroying Chaclaya crops and contaminating the river and water sources.
