Time and location Decision-making of international organisations in a changing global order 16:30 - 17:45 Globalization and denationalization of public power have brought about a bewildering increase in the number of international organizations (IOs) and a proliferation of participation in their New Babylon Meeting Center structures. While some IOs were established with an attempt to achieve multiple aims, others Participants were designed with a narrow focus on, among other aspects, security, human development, , Herman Schaper economic or environmental issues. While some IOs aim to reach deci- Georgetown University sions by consensus, others opt for less stringent (super-)majority voting rules, often with Jan Wouters weighting accounting for population or economic power. Within these formal decision-making KU rules, countries and their representatives play usual ‘’ and pursue vote trading strategies to achieve their preferred outcomes. Time and location Agenda-setting in the broad security field 16:30 - 17:45 In this workshop the 'Policing European Metropolises Project' (PEMP) will be presented; an international research project on 'governance arrangements' on crime and disorder in public New Babylon Meeting Center space (actors) and 'governance dispositions' in the broad urban policy field (agenda setting and Participants policy formulation).
