In-school mentor: () Mentoring provides children with an independent listening ear. Mentoring is relaxed and informal. It is positive, quality 1-1 time with an interested enthusiastic adult who only has the child’s best interests at heart. If you have 2-3 hours a week to support local children during school term times this could be for you. Volunteers need to be able to offer at least a 6 month commitment to this role to ensure continuity for the child.

Stay and Play: (Ladyfield Church Hall, Chippenham) Can you spare a couple of hours to support our volunteer led Stay and Play Group for parents/carers of pre-school children. This group runs on Tuesday mornings 10am – 11.15am. The group is led by a team of volunteers who operate on a rota basis.

Safe and Sound Youth Club: Chippenham A youth club run by our youth worker to offer a safe place for the Year 7 and above group to meet. Volunteers support our youth workers and help with activities. This group runs on Wednesday and Friday evenings.

4U: Calne A group for parents and carers who are under 25 offering support and advice, a chance to meet other young parents whilst providing a chance for children to play. This group runs on Tuesday’s at the Calne Children’s Centre 12 – 1.30pm.

Bookstart:

Chippenham, Calne, , , Wootton Basset

Could you help families learn to enjoy reading together? Bookstart is a 4 week programme where a volunteer spends time with a family to encourage a love of books and reading. Days and times to suit.

Sensory TimeThe Rise: King’s Trust Rise, – The Chippenham Oaks – Chippenham – – SN15 1DU – Tel: 01249 463040 Sensory time is a Limitedsession by for Guarantee parents/carers – Reg no: of 5662408 non-mobile Charity babies no: 1114446 under the age of 1. The role includes welcoming and chatting with parents/carers and assisting small groups to access the sensory equipment. The session runs on Fridays between 12.45pm-2.15pm. 1

Baby and Toddler: Springfield Campus, Are you able to support our team to facilitate a baby and toddler session? The role will include preparing for the session, welcoming parents, assisting with craft activities and then helping pack away. The group runs on Tuesday mornings and volunteers would need to be available for 9.30 -12noon.

Include: Spring Rise Children’s Centre, Chippenham Include is group specifically for parents and children from families from outside the UK. We are looking for a volunteer(s) to lead the group, encourage and welcome new families.

Breast Feeding Peer Support: Corsham, Royal Wootton Basset, Malmesbury Have you enjoyed being a breastfeeding mum? Would you like to support and encourage other mothers? Mum2Mum breastfeeding groups run within children centres or within community venues to provide peer support to expectant and breastfeeding mums by trained volunteer peer supporter.
