SNOW STUDENTS TO ENTERTAIN SANPETE WITH ""

EPHRAIM, Utah—February 16, 2006Snow College today announced it will present "Mame" in the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Performing Arts Center February 16-18, 23-25 and 27. Tickets are on sale for $7 (adults) and $6 (seniors and children) and may be purchased at the theatre box office or by calling (435) 283-7478. Snow College students with an activity card are admitted for $2. "MAME" is a classic musical comedy about a wild, witty, and irresistible New York flapper with a heart of gold. Through the eyes of her young nephew Patrick, we come to know Mame's entourage of friends, extravagant and delirious escapades. "MAME" opened May 24, 1966, at the Winter Garden Theater (New York) and ran for 1508 performances and winning 3 . The show is based on a novel by and play by and Robert E. Lee. Music and lyrics were written by . While many people haven't seen "Mame," the music is familiar including the well-known "We Need a Little Christmas," "Bosom Buddies," "If He Walked Into My Life," and "Mame." Snow's production features a cast of 34, orchestra of 27 and staff of 14. Featured players include: Ellie Durrant, Danae Ahlstrom, Michael Anderson and Sterling Young with Annemarie Neff, Jordan Christansen, Tyler Stull, Tommy Chen and John Ericson. The olderst member of the cast is Dawnave Funk, 68, who lives in Fairview. She plays Mother Burnside, Mame's mother-in-law. The youngest member is Brad Clawson, 8, of Mt. Pleasant. Brad is an elementary student who plays Mame's grandnephew. Directing the show is Ivo Peterson, a Snow instructor in the theatre arts department.
