1. Place the patterns on a single layer of fabric. Be sure to place the patterns correctly following the pattern directions. 2. Place the right side of the fabric facing down on the table. 3. Place the patterns on the fabric on the grain. All pattern grainlines are placed parallel to the selvage of the fabric. 4. When the fabric is delicate and slippery, draw or pin the patterns onto a layer of pattern paper.
Cutting the fabric. Snipping notches. Notches snipped in the fabric should be no longer than 1/8” (3 mm) in length. Mark dart points and matchpoints.

Sunshine jumper METHODOLOGY FVI01002 Page 8 How to read instructions1. SEWING 1. BUST DARTS Depending on your body measurements your garment can include several darts. If you can’t see any darts on your pattern piece, skip these steps. The total amount of darts may di er from the technical drawing.

Fold the dart. Match the dart lines (fold by the dart center line). *If your dart intake is larger than 2” (5 cm), to reduce dart bulk, you need to choose another method of the dart sewing. Look at page 28 - “Suggestions of the dart sewing”.
SEW 1.2
Sew starting at the raw edge.
PRESS 1.3
Press the darts. Always start at the broad end on the dart and press toward the point.

PLACE 2.1
Place the shoulder seams with the right sides together.
SERGE 2.2
Sew the shoulder seams with a serger stitch.

Press the seam allowances toward the back.
