Directions to NORTHBOROUGH FREE LIBRARY 34 MAIN STREET, NORTHBOROUGH, MA 01532

Additional parking on corner of Hudson and Pierce Street. Directions from Route 290: • Take the Church St. exit for Northborough. Stay on Church St. heading to Northborough for approximately 3 miles. Church St. ends at Main St. (Route 20).

• Take a left at the lights onto Route 20 East.

• Go through the light at Route 20 and Route 135 Cross the railroad tracks, and turn right into Patty Lane. The driveway to our lot will be on the left. Directions from Route 9 East/West to Route 135 West: • Take Route 9 East or West to 135 West.

• Route 135 West ends at Rt. 20 (Main St.) in downtown Northborough. Take a right at the lights towards Route 20 East. Cross the railroad tracks, and turn right into Patty Lane. The driveway to our lot will be on the left. Directions from the Mass Pike (either East or West): • Take I-90 East or West (Mass Pike) until you reach Exit 11A which is I-495.

• Exit and travel on I-495 North for approximately 1.5 miles to Exit 23B which is Route 9 West.

• Exit and travel on Route 9 West towards Worcester for approximately 2.2 miles until you reach the first set of traffic lights at Lyman Street.

• Turn right at the lights onto Lyman St. (Burger King will be on your right)

• Follow Lyman St. to the end, turn left onto Bartlett Street. At the next light, turn left onto Main St. Route 20 west. As you approach the center of town, opposite the Gulf gas station on the right, turn left into Patty Lane. Our parking lot will be on the left. Directions from 495 South: • Take I-495 South toward Worcester.

• From I-495, take Exit 24B which is Rt. 20 West toward Northborough.

• Follow Rt. 20 West about 3.5 miles, into the center of Northborough..

• Opposite the Gulf Station on the right, turn left into Patty Lane.

• The Northborough Free Library parking lot will be on the left.

Directions from Boston and the South Shore

1. Find the most direct route to Route 495.

2. As you enter Route 495, turn south and drive until that route becomes Route 25. Follow the signs for Cape Cod. 3. Making no turns; follow Route 25 directly over the Bourne Bridge and to the rotary on the other side of the Cape Cod .

4. Follow the rotary approximately three-quarters of the way around and turn right. Follow Route 6A parallel to the Canal for approximately 6 miles and look for signs directing you up onto the Mid-Cape Highway (Route 6) to Hyannis.

5. Follow Route 6 to Exit 6, bear left and turn left at the stop sign, traveling up Route 132, directly through a set of lights, to the College entrance.

Directions from Central and Western Massachusetts

1. Find the most direct route to Route 495. 2. As you enter Route 495, turn south and drive until that route becomes Route 25. Follow the signs for Cape Cod. 3. Making no turns; follow Route 25 directly over the Bourne Bridge and to the rotary on the other side of the .

4. Follow the rotary approximately three-quarters of the way around and turn right. Follow Route 6A parallel to the Canal for approximately 6 miles and look for signs directing you up onto the Mid-Cape Highway (Route 6) to Hyannis.

5. Follow Route 6 to Exit 6, bear left and turn left at the stop sign, traveling up Route 132, directly through a set of lights, to the College entrance.

Directions to Walpole Town Hall 135 School Street, Walpole MA 02081

From Route 128 South Take Route 128 South to 95 South to Exit 10 (Coney Street). Take a left off Exit 10 to Route 27. Take a right onto Route 27, then follow Route 27 to first set of lights, cross over Route 1 to second set of lights, continue on Route 27. You will pass Walpole Woodworkers on your right and Blessed Sacrament Church on the left, which is on Diamond Street. Continue to the next left that is School Street. The Town Hall is on your right across from Memorial Pond.

FROM (North) Rt. 128 S to Rt. 109 Exit (Westwood) Follow Rt. 109 toward Medfield for 3-4 miles. As you come around bend, on left hand corner of (Ice Cream Stand-Bubbling Brook), take North Street to end (turns into Fisher Street), Rt. 1A. Take right on 1A (Main Street). Second set of lights intersection of Rt. 27 and 1A. Turn left on Rt. 27, one block, take a right on School Street. Town Hall is on the right across from Memorial Pond.

FROM Rt. 95 (North) take right off ramp (Exit 9) Merges with Rt. 1 North approximately 1 mile 1st set of lights Rt. 27 and Rt. 1. Take left on Rt. 27 toward Walpole Center. Cross Washington Street (lights) past Blessed Sacrament Church on left. Next Street is School Street. Turn left, Town Hall is on the right across from Memorial Pond. (There is parking in the rear of the building) If you reach Rt. 1A, you have missed the turn. Come back one block. FROM 495

Take 495 to Foxboro Exit (Route 1/Stadium). Stay on Rt. 1 to Rt. 27. Take left on Rt. 27 toward Walpole Center. Cross Washington Street (lights) past Blessed Sacrament Church on left. Next Street is School Street. Turn left, Town Hall is on the right across from Memorial Pond. (There is parking in the rear of the building). If you reach Rt. 1A, you have missed the turn. Come back one block.

Directions to Parker River National Wildlife Refuge-Visitor Center 6 Plum Island Turnpike, Newburyport, Mass. 01950

The refuge is located ~35 miles north of Boston near the City of Newburyport.

From Route 95 take exit 57 and travel east on Route 113 to Newburyport, then continue straight onto Route Rte 113/1A South to the intersection with Rolfe’s Lane for a total of 3.5 miles.

At the lights adjacent to Newbury Green, Turn left onto Rolfe’s Lane and travel 0.5 miles to its end.

At the end of Rolfes Lane/Ocean Avenue, Turn right onto the Plum Island Turnpike, and our visitor center will be shortly on the right for the headquarters/visitor center.

If not stopping at our visitor center, continue to travel 2.0 miles crossing the Sgt. Donald Wilkinson Bridge to Plum Island.

Take your first right onto Sunset Drive and travel 0.5 miles to the refuge entrance.

Directions to the DEP-BOSTON OFFICE MassDEP Boston Office: Public Transportation & Parking One Winter Street Boston, Massachusetts 02108 617-292-5500

The Boston Office is located in the heart of the business district, or "Downtown Crossing" as it is called, at the corner of Winter and Washington Streets. MassDEP is located in several upper floors of the Corner Mall building (pictured right), directly across Washington Street from Filenes’s and diagonally across Washington Street from Macy's (formerly Jordan Marsh). MassDEP recommends that visitors to the One Winter Street offices drive to an outlying train station and take public transportation whenever possible. If you need driving directions, see MapQuest.

Public Transportation

Orange and Red Lines Take either the Red or Orange Line to the Downtown Crossing MBTA stop. The subway station is located across from the Corner Mall Building.

Green Line Take the Green Line to the Park Street Station MBTA stop. The MassDEP office is one block down Winter Street. You may also switch subway lines at Park Street and take the Red Line south one station to the Downtown Crossing MBTA stop which is located directly under the MassDEP building.

Blue Line Take the Blue Line to the MBTA stop. The MassDEP office is approximately four blocks down Washington Street. You may also switch subway lines at State Street and take the Orange Line south one station to the Downtown Crossing MBTA stop which is located directly under the MassDEP building.

Parking Washington and Winter Streets are part of the downtown pedestrian mall and are closed to vehicle traffic. Commercial parking is available at several downtown locations, including:

• Off Washington Street between and Avenue de LaFayette

• Boston Common underground garage.

Directions to UMASS Waltham Extension Center From the West:

Take Exit 14 off the and follow signs to Route 95/128 North. Continue as directed in the "From the South" below. From the South:

Take Route 95/128 North to Totten Pond Road, exit 27A. At end of exit ramp turn right at the lights onto Totten Pond Road. Go to end of Totten Poad Rd. (approximately 1 mile). Go to the end (see sign for Bentley College) and turn right and bear left at the fork onto Lexington Street; then turn left at first traffic light onto Beaver Street. Travel 3/4 around the rotary to stay on Beaver Street. UMASS Eastern Extension Center is on the right about 1 mile from the rotary.

From the North:

Take Route 95/128 North to Totten Pond Road, exit 27A. At end of exit ramp turn right out onto Totten Pond Road. Go to end of Totten Pond Rd. (approximately 1 mile). Go to the end (see sign for Bentley College) and turn right and bear left at the fork onto Lexington Street; then turn left at first traffic light onto Beaver Street. Travel 3/4 around the rotary to stay on Beaver Street. UMASS Eastern Extension Center is on the right about 1 mile from the rotary. From Boston-East:

Follow Storrow Drive West or Memorial Drive West to the end and follow signs towards Arlington. Bear left at the sign "16 South Watertown Waltham". Go approximately 4/10 mile and turn right onto Belmont Street (after Star Market). Turn right onto Trapelo Road and continue for 1.7 miles. Take left onto Waverly Oaks Road (sign reads "60 Waltham to Route 20). Take right at next traffic light onto Beaver Street. The UMASS Eastern Extension Center is 4/10 mile on the left.

Public Transportation: Take the MBTA Red Line to Harvard/Brattle stop in Harvard Square. From they’re take the #73 Trackless Trolley marked Waverly Square. Buses #54 and #521 Waverly Square Newton Corner leaves Waverly Square and travels along Beaver Street. UMASS Eastern Extension Center is located at 240 Beaver Street.

FROM EAST, VIA MASS PIKE: From East via Mass. Pike take Route 495 North (Exit 11). Follow Route 495 North approximately 7 miles to Route 290 West. Follow Route 290 West approximately 7 miles to Route 140 North. Follow Route 140 North approximately 6 miles, you will be riding along the shore of the Wachusett Reservoir, then through the center of West Boylston and across a causeway over the Wachusett Reservoir. After the causeway you will pass an old stone church on the shore of the reservoir to your left. The DCR office is set back from Route 140 (Beaman St.) to the right and is the next building on the right after the Old Stone Church. The main entrance is marked by a flagpole.

FROM WEST VIA MASS PIKE: Follow Mass. Pike East to Route 290 East Follow Route 290 East to Route 190 North Follow Route 190 North to Exit 4 (Route 12 North) Follow Route 12 North to the junction of Route 140 and take Route 140 North Follow Route 140 North across the causeway over Wachusett Reservoir (you will see an old stone church on the reservoir shore to your left). The DCR office is set back from Route 140 (Beaman St.) to the right, the next building on the right after the Old Stone Church. The main entrance is marked by a flagpole.

FROM ROUTE 2: Follow Route 2 to Leominster (either from the east or west) and take Route 190 South. Follow Route 190 South to Route 140 South approximately 9 miles. Follow Route 140 South for approximately 1 mile (you will cross over the Stillwater River) The Facility will be set back from Route 140 on the left. The main entrance is marked by a flagpole.

From the North: Take Interstate 93S to Exit 26A/; Cambridge. Follow the signs towards . Turn right at the end of the ramp. The Fleet Center will be located on your left and 251 Causeway will be just down past the Route 93 on the right. Alternative North Route: Take Interstate 93S to Exit 28/ /Charlestown. After exiting, stay left and follow signs for Sullivan Square/Charlestown. Enter traffic circle and follow signs for Downtown/Storrow Drive. This is Route 99 south (Rutherford Ave.). At Bunker Hill Community College follow signs for City Square/Downtown Boston. Stay straight and follow signs for North Station. From Eastern and Northeastern Massachusetts: Take Interstate 95S to Route 1 S. Follow Route 1 across the Tobin Bridge and follow signs for Storrow Drive / Cambridge. Stay right to exit at Nashua Street and follow signs for North Station. The Fleet Center will be located on your left and 251 Causeway will be just down past the Route 93 overpass on the right From the South: Take Interstate 95N to Interstate 93N to Boston. Enter new 93 N Tunnel. Take Exit 26/Storrow Drive. After exiting, stay left and follow the signs for North Station. Please be advised the exit will be on your left. Once you exit, you will be on Martha Road/Nashua Street. The Fleet Center will be located on your left and 251 Causeway will be just down past the Route 93 overpass on the right. Alternative South Route: Take Exit 23/Gov't Center off the new Tunnel. At the top of the exit, stay straight and follow sign for North Station. This is Cross Street. Cross Street will merge into North Washington St. At first traffic light fork left onto Medford St. Take Medford Street to the end and turn left onto Causeway St. 251 Causeway Street is on the immediate left. From the West: Take Mass Pike East to Interstate 93N to Boston. Enter new 93 N Tunnel. Take Exit 26/Storrow Drive. After exiting, stay left and follow the signs for North Station. Please be advised the exit will be on your left. Once you exit, you will be on Martha Road/Nashua Street. The Fleet Center will be located on your left and 251 Causeway will be just down past the Route 93 overpass on the right. Alternative West Route: Take Exit 23/Gov't Center off the new Tunnel. At the top of the exit, stay straight and follow sign for North Station. This is Cross Street. Cross Street will merge into North Washington St. At first traffic light fork left onto Medford St. Take Medford Street to the end and turn left onto Causeway St. 251 Causeway Street is on the immediate left. From Back Bay: Turn left onto Berkeley Street. At the end of Berkeley Street turn right onto Storrow Drive East. At the end of Storrow Drive, turn right onto Martha Road/Nashua Street. Turn left onto Causeway St. The Fleet Center will be located on your left and 251 Causeway will be just down past the Route 93 overpass on the right. From Logan Airport: Exit the airport and follow the signs to the toward Boston. There will be a $3.00 toll when traveling from the airport into Boston. Once through the tunnel, stay in the right lane and take the ramp marked Storrow Dr/Cambridge. Once on the ramp follow signs for North Station.

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

For subway maps and commuter rail fares and schedules, visit the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority website at http:\\www.mbta.com. When you get to the North Station stop on Causeway Street, walk past the Fleet center on your left to the end of the street. 251 Causeway Street is directly across. Green & Orange Lines: Take either line to the North Station stop. Red Line: Take the Red Line to the Park Street stop and switch to Green Line Eastbound (3 stops) to the North Station stop.

Blue Line: Take the Blue Line to the Government Center stop and then switch to the Green Line Eastbound (2 Stops) to the North Station stop.

From South Station: Take the Red Line (2 stops) to the Park Street stop and switch to the Green Line Eastbound (3 stops) to North Station stop.

From Logan Airport: Take the Blue Line inbound (4 stops) to Government Center and then switch to the Green Line eastbound (2 stops) to North Station stop.

Directions to the Notch in Amherst (Park Directions) Directions from Boston: Take Masspike West and take exit 4 to Rt. 91 North. Take exit 19 off Rt. 91 to Rt. 9 East towards Amherst. Follow Rt. 9 approximately 1 mi. to Rt. 47 (Bay Rd). Take Rt. 47 S for approximately 2 ½ miles. You will see signs for National Yiddish Book Center and Hampshire College. Look for signs for Bay Rd on your left. Take a left on to Bay Rd and follow Bay Rd approximately 4-½ mi. Take a right onto Rt. 116 (West St.) headed towards Holyoke. From here you will see the signs leading to the Holyoke Range State Park and the Notch Visitor's Center. OR Park Directions Mt. Holyoke Range State Park is located in central Massachusetts. From east or west: take the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) to exit 5, Rte. 33 north to Rte. 116 north to the Amherst town line

• Bear Left at the next fork onto Chestnut Street

• Turn Right at end of Chestnut Street onto South Washington Street

• Town Hall on Left past the school, parking in rear.
