A friendly group for people over 55. If you are looking for a change or a chance to get out and about, come along to our weekly sessions every Wednesday 10AM to 4PM in meeting room 1 on the Forum concourse. Enjoy socialising, reading, the papers or playing cards and board games.

You can also get creative with arts and crafts, knitting and sewing. Enjoy a group bingo session. Test your knowledge and take part in our Quiz Activities also include singing, chair-based exercises, dancing, yoga and much more.

The Feel Good Tuesday Club - Come to our cosy social group where you can enjoy activities that will improve your confidence to interact with others - through chatting, singing, chair-based exercise and other fun sensory experiences. Led by Speech & Language Therapist, Alison, and assisted by other experienced dementia support staff, the group aims to help people living with dementia to communicate and interact with more confidence and to enjoy group activities geared to their abilities. The Didsbury Ladies PROBUS Club – Ladies are you retired or semi-retired and looking to join a group for fellowship and friendship of like-minded people, then consider joining the Didsbury Ladies Probus Club. Exercise Classes for Older People - Over 65? Want to get fitter, have some fun and enjoy new company? Improve your balance, strength and flexibility. Classes available: Monday afternoon 1.30 – 2.30pm with instructor, Karen. Seated and standing exercises, simple movements to a variety of music for fairly mobile older people. Wednesday afternoon 1.30 – 2.30pm with instructor, Josie. Slightly more vigorous class for older people, mixture of balance and cardio and some seated as well as standing work. Friday morning 10 – 11am with instructor, Don. Seated exercise class for older people with more mobility difficulties. Some transport assistance available for this class. Get a move on….Specialised Keep Fit for the over 50’s - Join Age UK Manchester for a weekly drop in fitness class offering fun and unique ways of exercising. Janice (Jazzy J) will cater for any ability or level of fitness. It’s for everybody! Every Tuesday: Chair-based Exercise 1.30pm-2.30pm. Fun and exercise (including gym induction) 2.30pm-3.30pm. Meet new people and make new friends whilst improving your fitness and mobility. Each session costs just £2 with members attending free of charge. Self Help Group - Friday mornings 10.30am – 12.30pm. Worrying and feeling sad doesn’t have to be part of your daily life. There is something you can do about it “. Come along to our older adult’s wellbeing workshop (65 plus). A qualified practitioner will give you practical tools to help improve wellbeing, reduce worries, manage stress and feel happier in your life. Fabulous Forgetful Friends – A group which empowers and raises awareness for people with dementia. It is part of “Together Dementia Support”. The group offers support to talk about issues that concern people with dementia, have lunch in addition to a monthly fun trip out in their mini bus. The 3rd Tuesday of each month at Chorlton Central Church, Road, M21 8BF.

Welcome to Wythenshawe Dementia Café - First Wednesday of the month from 1pm-3pm. Do you care for someone with dementia? Would you like to learn more about dementia? Come and join Admiral Nurses, Dementia Support Advisers, Manchester Carers Forum for a cuppa and a chat in a relaxed and friendly environment. This is a ‘safe’ place bringing people with dementia and their family carers together in the community. Here you can get support and meet other people in the same situation as you. Infinite Tai Chi for Over 50's - Wednesday Mornings 10:30 - 11:30 am. Cost is £3.00 per class. Grove Lane Court , Grove Lane, Didsbury. In all classes wear comfortable clothing for easy movement and wrap warm for relaxation. Classes are taught in block sessions. A minimum of 5 people is required to run a session. Creative arts – From Memory Books to Future Boxes. This creative arts workshop offers adult learners the opportunity to capture precious memories, hopes and dreams for the future in beautiful handmade books and boxes. The perfect workshop for adults who have treasured items, which are tucked away and have most likely been forgotten about. From old letters and family photographs, to children's drawings and pressed leaves. This workshop is available across the north of . Creative Club for those living with dementia - Come and have fun making, sharing and relaxing whilst we explore a range of creative activities such as pottery, painting and drawing, needle craft and much more. Dementia Café at Home - The idea of Dementia Cafes is to bring people with a diagnosis of dementia and their family carers together in the Community. Music In Mind – Are you or a loved one living with Dementia? Manchester Camerata orchestra invites you to take part in free music sessions at Northmoor Community Association from April until August. Create music, sing and play simple instruments as a group. The friendly musicians will show you how making music can help lift your mood and build friendships. Cheadle and Gatley U3A Lunchtime Concerts for free - The aim of this group is to attend concerts at venues in Manchester which will reflect different styles and periods of music performed by a variety of instruments and ensembles. Forthcoming events are usually announced at the U3A Monthly Meeting

Keep fit, exercise and unwind – We are a mature, friendly, female class and meet Tuesday mornings in term time from 11.30am until 1pm at the Upper Floor of Emmanuel Church Hall. There is a fee of £4 a session, which includes tea or coffee.

Exercise classes for older people - Over 65? The classes aim to improve balance and co-ordination, strengthen muscles and provide a fun, safe space to stay fit. Walking football - We are Mancunians have started a new, indoor walking football session at the Platt Lane Dome, Fallowfield, on Mondays. Starting at 11.00am, the sessions are run in partnership with Lifeline and the sessions are open to men and women over the age of 50, regardless of ability. Singing for the Brain – at St Andrews Hall, Brownley Road, M22 0DW. Thursdays 10.30 – 12.30pm. A stimulating group activity for people in the early to moderate stages of dementia and their Carers, which can help with general wellbeing and confidence. Mend & Make – A workshop where people can socialise and connect. We provide a warm welcoming space with experienced supportive staff. Informal drop-in computer sessions for the over 50s – learn at your own pace at Didsbury Library Wednesday mornings, between 10am and 12noon. You don’t need your own computer, but you can bring your own laptop or tablet. £2 voluntary contribution per session. Peer Support Groups Later Life – This is a group of individuals who have experience of mental health difficulties and meet informally on a regular basis to offer each other support, advice and friendship. These groups provide a safe and supportive environment to support your ongoing recovery and well-being. Anyone over the age of 65 years who is receiving a service from GMMH and can make their own way is welcome to attend. ACT PEER RECOVERY - A Mutual Aid group to support people in recovery from drug and alcohol issues. It is called ACT PEER RECOVERY and takes place in The Forum Library, Wythenshawe, Manchester, M22 5RX. The group is held every Thursday afternoon at 1.30pm – 3.30pm. It is anonymous and offers peer support, based around structured sessions. It focuses on behaviour and how we can change our behaviour to help us. It is an open meeting, and although primarily meant for people in recovery, the only rule for attendance is that people do not attend under the influence of drugs or alcohol, so if people are actively trying to reduce their usage, and are not under the influence, they can then attend. You do not need to be referred in by any service or professional. Attendance can be anonymous and does not have to be reported or logged (same principle as attending an AA or NA meeting). Volunteers wanted for Park Clean up Campaign - Wythenshawe Park is organising a number of “Keep our Park Clean” events in the next few months. These events will be happening on the first Monday and third Monday of each month and also on alternate Saturdays. If the first Monday is a bank holiday, it will be on the first Tuesday. Manchester Volunteer Advice Project – Meet new people, Learn new skills. MVAP is a partnership between Manchester Mind, Cheetham Hill Advice Centre, Greater Manchester Immigration Aid Unit, Young People’s Support Foundation and Manchester Refugee Support Network. The project provides excellent quality volunteering opportunities in advice activities across all our organisations. The Edible Interchange – Volunteers are needed every Tuesday from 2pm to help to maintain the Real Food beds around the transport interchange, next to the Forum. Hospice needs shop volunteers – St Ann’s Hospice is asking local people to consider donating just a few hours of their time each week to help shop staff raise vital funds to support local patients. There is such a wide range of roles for people to support us with, we’re hoping there’s something that will appeal to everyone. We need help with window displays, merchandising to serving customers, organising books and DVDs and collecting and delivering furniture.  Tell Us Once – A free government initiative to help those that have been bereaved. When someone has died, there are lots of things that need to be done, at a time when you probably least feel like doing them. This will include contacting Government departments and local council services that need to be informed. When you use Tell Us Once, the services notified will include: DWP Pensions and Benefits, Personal Tax, Council Tax, Passport, Driving License, Blue Badge, Electoral Register and the Public Sector Pensions. You will need to contact your Register Office in advance of using the Tell Us Once service which will normally be when you register the death. The options to connect the Tell Us Once service are online, face to face and telephone. For more information about Tell Us Once please access the website: www.gov.uk/tell-us-once Local Link is your 24-hour-a-day connection to workplaces in the Wythenshawe area, including Manchester Enterprise Zone. Local Link operates every day except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Book your connection in advance and Local Link will pick you up from the Local Link stop on Rowlandsway at Wythenshawe bus station, Stand L at bus station or from Brooklands Metrolink stop.  Ring and Ride - Ring and Ride provides a door-to-door accessible minibus service for people of all ages who find it difficult to use ordinary public transport, providing the opportunity to book trips in Greater Manchester including travel into neighbouring districts of up to six miles. The service will continue to run 8am to 10.45pm, seven days a week and trips can be booked through one call centre phone number between 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, up to seven days in advance.  The Metroshuttle – This fee bus service links the main transport hubs and leisure destinations. Tickets are not needed, just hop on and off as often as you like. For more information visit tfgm.com/metroshuttle

Metrolink Tram Service–Greater Manchester’s Tramsystem offers easy travel around the city centre and further afield. Trams run on the Metrolink network from approximately 6am to 11.30pm Mondays to Thursdays with last trams running later on Fridays and Saturdays. On Sundays, trams start later and finish earlier in a time range of approximately 7am to 10.30pm. Details of specific first and last tram times from each stop are displayed on the stop platform.
