Evidence shows that good relationships with family, friends and the wider community, are important for mental wellbeing. We are combining the best of Manchester's art scene into one amazing all-dayer featuring: A huge affordable art fair Art workshops. A pop -up exhibition and more! Brought to you by the best of Manchester's creatives. This all-day event is free to attend! We will also be raising money with our charity tombola for the amazing charity, The Booth Centre. The event is held at Project B Manchester, 11am - 6pm (bar and food open till late). Would you like additional support and mentoring to help you achieve your goals? This could be the course for you! A course designed and delivered by the award-winning Proper Job Theatre Company. It will help you transition into paid work, training or volunteer opportunities of your choice. Each day on this course is different, we use creative methods to engage and challenge learners in fun and focused ways. What will I Gain? When is it? If you are looking for a change or a chance to get out and about, come along to our weekly sessions every Wednesday 10AM to 4PM in meeting room 1 on the Forum concourse. Enjoy socialising, reading, the papers or playing cards and board games. You can also get creative with arts and crafts, knitting and sewing. Enjoy a group bingo session. Test your knowledge and take part in our Quiz. Activities also include singing, chair- based exercises, dancing, yoga and much more. Forum Library, Forum Square, Wythenshawe, M22 5RX The Feel Good Tuesday Club - Come to our cosy social group where you can enjoy activities that will improve your confidence to interact with others - through chatting, singing, chair-based exercise and other fun sensory experiences. Led by Speech & Language Therapist, Alison, and assisted by other experienced dementia support staff, the group aims to help people living with dementia to communicate and interact with more confidence and to enjoy group activities geared to their abilities. (2nd Tuesday of every Month) The Didsbury Ladies PROBUS Club – Ladies are you retired or semi-retired and looking to join a group for fellowship and friendship of like-minded people, then consider joining the Didsbury Ladies Probus Club. We meet fortnightly on Mondays at 2.30 PM (Refreshments at 2 PM) at East Didsbury Methodist Church, Parrs Wood Road, Manchester, M20 5QQ. You would be welcome at any of our meetings. Want to get fitter, have some fun and enjoy new company? Improve your balance, strength and flexibility. Classes available: Monday afternoon 1.30 – 2.30pm with instructor, Karen. Seated and standing exercises, simple movements to a variety of music for fairly mobile older people. Wednesday afternoon 1.30 – 2.30pm with instructor, Josie. Slightly more vigorous class for older people, mixture of balance and cardio work and some seated as well as standing work. Friday morning 10 – 11am with instructor, Don. Seated exercise class for older people with more mobility difficulties. Some transport assistance available for this class. All classes are at Wilbraham St Ninians Church, 132 – 134 Egerton Road South, Chorlton, Manchester 21 0XJ. The sessions are great fun. You will need to wear light clothing and flat shoes. Janice (Jazzy J) will cater for any ability or level of fitness. It’s for everybody! Every Tuesday: Chair-based Exercise 1.30pm-2.30pm. Fun and exercise (including gym induction) 2.30pm-3.30pm. Meet new people and make new friends whilst improving your fitness and mobility. Each session costs just £2 with members attending free of charge. There is something you can do about it “. Come along to our older adult’s wellbeing workshop (65 plus). A qualified practitioner will give you practical tools to help improve wellbeing, reduce worries, manage stress and feel happier in your life. It is part of “Together Dementia Support”. The group offers support to talk about issues that concern people with dementia, have lunch in addition to a monthly fun trip out in their mini bus. The 3rd Tuesday of each month at Chorlton Central Church, Barlow Moor Road, M21 8BF. Welcome to Wythenshawe Dementia Café - First Wednesday of the month from 1pm-3pm. Do you care for someone with dementia? Would you like to learn more about dementia? Come and join Admiral Nurses, Dementia Support Advisers, Manchester Carers Forum for a cuppa and a chat in a relaxed and friendly environment. This is a ‘safe’ place bringing people with dementia and their family carers together in the community.
