ROAR & SNORE PREPARATION LIST

Your Roar & Snore Safari includes  Tent accommodations  Classic Tents include sleeping pads  Dinner, breakfast, and s’mores  Vista Tents include cots, fan, and  Bar (All Ages and Adults Only events. Weather and clothing Roar & Snore Safari is an all-weather event. The generally experiences high temperatures during the day and low temperatures at night. Please wear appropriate clothing for weather and temperature conditions. Overnight attire, comfortable close- toed shoes, and clothing for the following day are recommended.

What to bring Each participant should bring the following items, clearly labeled with their name. Please limit luggage to one sleeping bag and one duffel/suitcase per person.

The San Diego Zoo Safari Park is a smoke-free facility (including e-cigarettes and vapor inhalers).

Additional guests Any additional guests not enrolled in the Roar & Snore Safari will not be admitted to the program.

ROAR & SNORE SAFARI GUEST INFORMATION

Welcome Back to the Wild! We are thrilled that you will be joining us for a Roar & Snore Safari at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. Please visit zoo.sandiegozoo.org/reopen for important information about what to expect when you arrive, tips for a safe visit, and measures we are taking to protect the safety and well-being of our guests, team members, and wildlife.

Reservations are required Due to COVID-19, in order to keep our community safe during this time and in anticipation of high demand, the Safari Park has implemented a reservation system required for entry. This is in addition to your Roar & Snore Safari reservation. Please visit zoo.sandiegozoo.org/reservations for more information.

Please make a Member Reservation or purchase a date-specific ticket for the date on which your Roar & Snore Safari begins. Your Roar & Snore Safari includes re-entry into the Safari Park at the conclusion of the program the following morning; no separate ticket or reservation is required.

Check-in for your Roar & Snore Safari takes place at 4:15 PM in the parking lot. Roar & Snore Safari guests will be permitted to re-enter the Park after program check-in.

Things to know before you arrive Cloth facial coverings entirely covering the nose and mouth are required for all guests two years of age and older. Please have facial coverings on as you arrive.

Upon arrival, you will be asked some health screening questions. Please do not visit if your or anyone in your household:

• has had a fever or felt feverish within the past 3 days; • has any of the following NEW symptoms: cough, chills, sore throat, muscle pain/body aches, extreme fatigue, vomiting/diarrhea, loss of the sense of taste or smell, shortness of breath or trouble breathing • has had contact with someone who is positive or highly likely to be positive for COVID-19 for more than 10 minutes without a mask/face covering.

You will be sent a link to our digital Consent and Release Forms in advance of your Roar & Snore Safari. A separate form must be completed for each participant.

During your visit Cloth facial coverings entirely covering the nose and mouth must be worn at all times except while dining or inside your tent. Please maintain a six-foot distance from team members, wildlife, and other guests not from your household.

Cleanliness & sanitation The Safari Park maintains high standards of cleanliness. All restrooms and high-touch surfaces are regularly cleaned and sanitized. Your tent will be cleaned and sanitized prior to your arrival. Our staff will transport your luggage from check-in, place it outside your tent, and sanitize all luggage handles. In the morning, please leave your luggage outside your tent. Our staff will transport it to the parking lot, set it out for your retrieval, and sanitize all luggage handles.

Hand sanitizer and handwashing stations are placed at various locations throughout our grounds. We recommend you wash your hands frequently—with soap and warm water, for at least 20 seconds—during your visit, and avoid touching your face.

Meals Your Roar & Snore Safari includes dinner, breakfast, and campfire s’mores. All meals will be prepared in advance following health department standards, individually packaged, and delivered to your party’s assigned table.

Our Consent and Release Forms include sections for you to declare any allergies or dietary restrictions. Please be sure to complete these sections so that we may prepare appropriate meals for you, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free items.

Check-in Roar & Snore Safari check-in is from 4:15 PM to 5:00 PM. Please bring your vehicle to the Preferred Parking section of the parking lot (above row 1) and pull up to the check- in area. Please remain in your vehicle; our staff will check you in and ask you to unload your luggage before parking.

You may enjoy visiting habitats along the way. Please be at Kilima Point by 6:00 PM for dinner service.

Program itinerary Your Roar & Snore Safari has been modified to protect your health and safety as well as that of other guests, our team members, and wildlife. These modifications are based on guidance from health authorities, including the CDC, along with requirements of the state of California and San Diego County.

To maintain social distancing, many parts of the experience will be self-guided. Please stay within the designated boundaries and maintain a minimum six-foot distance from other guests.

Sample itinerary (events and activities are subject to change):

Evening 4:15–5:00 PM Check-in, Park entry 5:00–6:00 Free time in the Park 6:00 Dinner at Kilima Point, free time to unpack and enjoy campsite 7:00–10:00 Self-guided and socially distanced activities including: • Visit Valley, Camp, and Kilima Point to observe the nighttime activities of and learn from our knowledgeable staff. • Exclusive visits with Animal Ambassadors and their wildlife care experts • Campfire and s’mores • Bingo (All Ages events) or Safari Park Trivia (Adults Only events) 10:30–11:00 Lights Out Morning 6:00–7:30 AM Wake-up calls Free time to visit Elephant Valley, Lion Camp, and Kilima Point Please have luggage packed and placed outside your tent by 8:00 AM for pickup by our staff. 7:30–8:30 Breakfast at Kilima Point 8:30 Exit to parking lot for luggage pickup (escorted by staff) 9:00 Safari Park opens for the day. You are welcome to re-enter and enjoy the day in the Park.
