Zoos and aquariums accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) are dedicated to animal care, wildlife conservation, education, and science. Woodland Park Zoo saves animals and their habitats through conservation leadership and engaging experiences, inspiring people to learn, care and act. Woodland Park Zoo currently partners with 37 conservation projects in more than 50 countries worldwide and in our own backyard. These projects protect species such as snow leopards, golden lion tamarins, western pond turtles, and Oregon silverspot butterflies, through captive management, habitat preservation, community-based involvement, management of human-wildlife conflicts, education, and research.
