Pilgrimage to Italy

Day 1: Monday, October 12: Departure from Home ______Depart on an overnight flight to Rome, Italy

Day 2: Tuesday, October 13: Arrive in Rome ______Arrive in Rome and visit the Catacombs of Callixtus to celebrate Mass. Continue to the hotel for dinner and overnight

Day 3: Wednesday, October 14: Rome ______Attend a morning Papal Audience at Vatican City and visit St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museums afterwards. Continue to the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls to celebrate Mass. Afternoon/evening at leisure

Day 4: Thursday, October 15: Rome ______Visit the Basilica of St. John Lateran and the Scala Sancta, followed by the Basilica of St. Mary Major to celebrate Mass. Afternoon see the Piazza Navona, and Trevi Fountain, and many other sights around Rome at leisure

Day 5: Friday, October 16: Rome | Assisi ______Morning visit to the Roman Form and the Coliseum before transferring to Assisi in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight in Assisi

Day 6: Saturday, October 17: Assisi | Florence ______Spend time at the St. Francis Basilica and the tombs of St. Francis and St. Clare. Continue to the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels on the way to Florence for overnight

Day 7: Sunday, October 18: Florence ______A visit of Florence includes the Church of the Holy Cross, to celebrate Mass, Piazza Signorina, Ponte Vecchio, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, and L’Accademia, to see Michelangelo’s artwork, including the sculpture of David. Evening dinner together at a local restaurant and overnight in Florence

Day 8: Monday, October 19: Florence | San Gimignano | Siena ______Morning excursion to San Gimignano to spend time in this renaissance city. Continue to Siena for overnight

Day 9: Tuesday, October 20: Siena | Rome ______Visit the medieval city of Siena, birthplace of St. Catherine of Siena and St. Bernadine. Visit the Basilica of St. Catherine, walk around the city and visit the Duomo de Siena. In the afternoon, continue to Rome for a Farewell Dinner together and overnight at the hotel

Day 10: Wednesday, October 21: Return Home ______We leave our hotel and head for the Rome airport to return to the US.
