JD Wine Concepts LLC, doing business as Quantum Leap Winery, is opening the doors to Orlando’s first winery on Oct. 4.

Quantum Leap blends wines from around the world as well as bottles, packages and sells wine directly to consumers, according to a news release. In addition, the winery will host wine tastings, serve as an event venue and offer retail sales of their wines, wine-realted merchandise and provide wine to restaurants.

The new winery is located in a 17,000-square-fot warehouse space in downtown Orlando’s Mills 50 district at 1312 Wilfred Dr., according to Schmidt Design Studio, which helped complete the design of the new winery.

As previously reported by the Orlando Business Journal, Jill Ramsier, co-owner of Quantum Leap Winery, said the company spent $250,000 on winery equipment including tanks, wine botting machines, tank cleaning systems and more.

Central Florida and distributes wine to stores and restaurants in Florida. Sales at Lakeridge last year were $5.2 million – up 24 percent from $4.2 million in 2010.
