Bachelor’s - 1000,000 applicants, filtered to 150,000 out of which finally around 9600 are admitted through a 2-tier exam system: (Joint Entrance Examinations – JEE Mains and JEE Advanced )

International MoUs

• - For research collaborations, faculty visits and student exchanges.

• - Currently we have MoUs with nearly 70 universities of which many are ranked among the top 500 universities in the world. IITB has been ranked among the top 250 in the past few years.

• - Faculty visits and post-doctoral research visits are supported.

• - Special capacity-building MoUs with developing countries in Africa.

• - Student Exchange programs, including tuition-waiver and on-campus accommodation facilities, with 19 universities.

International Activities

• - Erasmus Mundus Mobility program grant (currently partnering in 4 EM programs: IDEAS, HERITAGE, EMINTE and EUPHRATES) • - IIT Bombay – Monash Research Academy for industry driven PhDs: to fill the lab to industry gap.

• - Part of Consortium - Centre for Urban Research and Progress in New York City

- Global Alliance of Technological Universities for theme based research collaborations with key technical universities as partners (Caltech, , NanyangTechnological University, Shanghai Jiaotong, ETH Zurich, Imperial College & IITB)

• - Partnering with canadian universities for a Canada- Research Centre of Excellence – to be set up with Canadian Federal funding upto 15 million CAD

• - Several other international research activities sponsored by GOI R & D at IIT Bombay
