He called the Good Shepherd family “an awesome neighbor” and a true asset to the Fulton neighborhood.

“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock” (Matthew 7:24). It started out with a group of middle school students and a handful of markers; it ended up being an activity that connected hundreds from UPCOMING EVENTS: this congregation and beyond. Back in September, on the first night of confirmation programming, while the building was under intense GOLDEN construction, we brought middle school youth and leaders to the sanctuary and gathered in the center of the stripped sanctuary floor. AN EMBRACE FOR CAMDEN PROMISE BY KAREN WALHOF

In early October we sent out a request for new or gently-used coats for Camden Promise. Some of the families they serve struggle to JOIN IN find warm costs – especially for children, who seem to need a larger one every year. The entire congregation pitched in – adults and youth – and brought warm coats, placing them on the narthex altar, an offering of love in Christ’s name. On November 20, 54 coats along with some snow pants, hats, gloves and mittens went to Camden Promise. On November 28, they were distributed to families who need them. We were fortunate that the winter cold did not set in early this year; indeed, the coats were JANUARY – AUGUST 2016 delivered just in time – an embrace of warmth for our brothers and Lutheran Church of the sisters in the Camden area. This will be the third year of this specific pack. This mobile pack will seek to pack four million meals, utilize over 20,000 volunteers from more than 20 churches and raise funds as well as awareness. The old Rainbow Foods building in Apple Valley has been secured for this week-long pack. There will be many more details in the months to come, but for now please remember this event in your prayers, and look for opportunities to sign up and participate soon.
