SOMERSET COUNTY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, BRIDGWATER) (20MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2018
NOTICE is hereby given that Somerset County Council proposes to make the above Order in pursuance of the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which is to introduce a 20mph speed limit on the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this Notice.
The provisions of any other Order are hereby revoked but only in so far as they are affected by the restrictions imposed by this order.
A copy of the draft Order, the maps showing the lengths of road affected and the Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at Somerset Highways, A Block Reception, County Hall, Taunton or online at www.somerset.gov.uk/TRO .
Any person wishing to object to the proposed Order may do so in writing, quoting reference number KT05102018 and specifying the grounds on which it is made to Somerset County Council, Traffic Management, County Hall, Taunton TA1 4DY. To be received no later than the 4th December 2018.

Bridgwater College Approach from from the junction with Fairfax Road for a Fairfax Road, Bridgwater distance of 16 metres in a westerly direction

Longstone Avenue, Bridgwater from the junction with Fairfax Road for a distance of 20 metres in a southerly direction
Weacombe Road, Bridgwater for its entire length
Raleigh Close, Bridgwater for its entire length
Thorncombe Crescent, Bridgwater for its entire length
Adscombe Avenue, Bridgwater for its entire length

STATEMENT OF REASONS FOR PROPOSING TO MAKE THE ORDER
For avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.

SOMERSET COUNTY COUNCIL in exercise of its powers under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (hereinafter referred to as “the Act of 1984”) and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act of 1984, hereby makes the following Order: -
1. This Order shall come into force on the xxxth day of xxxxxxx 2018 and may be cited as the “Somerset County Council (Various Roads, Bridgwater) (Parish of Bridgwater) (20 mph Speed Limit) Order 2018”.
2. The provisions of any other Order are hereby revoked but only in so far as they are affected by the restrictions imposed by this order.
3. No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 20 mph on the lengths of road specified in the Schedules to this Order.
