Using the official measure of deprivation in England we split all households in to 5 groups from most to least deprived. We then calculate the percentage of households in the ward in each of the 5 groups.

Larger bars to the left of the graph indicate higher levels of deprivation, larger bars to the right of the graph indicate lower levels of deprivation. Definitions

Census Statistics All Census rates are based on the population at the time of the census, other statistics are based on more recent populations/pupils number figures.

Crime Crime statistics are accessed from the Police.uk web site. This data is anonymised to protect the privacy of victims, including the exact location of the crime. Calculated crime rates for wards may therefore be slightly skewed if this results in a crime appearing to have occured in the wrong ward.

Adult Social Care Residential/Nursing care – Care for a client in a group home on a full-time basis, the Nursing element also includes medical support. This is primarily care for the elderly/those with dementia, although there are some Mental Health and Learning Disability clients included.

Self-Directed Support – This is either a Direct Payment, where we give the client an amount of money and they can spend it on purchasing care for themselves. Or it’s a Personal Budget, where the client is informed of how much money they have been allocated, but we’re still responsible for organising their care for them.

Community Based Services – Includes Day Care (Activities put on for clients either in a community venue or in a Residential home), Home Care (Support provided in a person’s own home, including help with dressing, meal preparation, bathing etc.) and other miscellaneous options such as Work Training for Learning Disability Clients

Reablement – These are Home Care packages provided to Clients who have been released from Hospital to help them get back on their feet and hopefully ensure they won’t requiring ongoing care, this tends to last for 2-6 weeks.
