MARBACHEGG – SIMPLY EXQUISITE Simply exquisite – straightforward and family-friendly – that's the winter sport region of Marbach/Marbachegg. Families and daytrippers can really get their money's worth here in the peaceful, idyllic countryside. Its major trump card is the beautiful sun terrace of Marbachegg. You can take the Bretzeli cable car from the bottom of the valley and get there in no time. Every Saturday evening, you can go sledging; the valley descent and cable car is open from 5pm to 7pm and sledges can be hired from the valley station. Throughout the whole winter season, walkers and connoisseurs can travel by cable car up to the Marbachegg and back for just 10 Swiss francs. The family winter sport region The open practice slope, with two children's lifts and a sledge run, is really popular with families. THE NIESEN – THE SWISS PYRAMIDS The Niesen is a pyramid and is found at Lake Thun. With its unmistakable shape, it towers over the Bernese Oberland. The first restaurant hotel was built in 1856 on this exclusive summit. This was followed in 1910 by the historic funicular railway, which takes you up to the 2,362 metre-high summit in two sections.
