Churchwardens: vacant positions Autumn Term at Bradford Primary School….. It has been a busy term so far with a whole host of exciting activities for the children, staff and parents. During the afternoon of Tuesday 9th October, the annual Harvest Festival was held in the school hall. The children sang a variety of songs and hymns to their parents, grandparents, family members and the community including We Plough the Fields and Scatter, The Tractor Song, Harvest Song and Cauliflowers Fluffy. A prayer was read by the Year 6's as well as the school’s version of the Lord’s Prayer. Donations were given for the local Foodbank with refreshments being served at the end of the service by Friends of Bradford School including bread which was made by Class 1. As part of their current topic 'Toys' Class 1 visited Holsworthy Museum on Thursday 11th October. Whilst at the museum they were able to look at the old toys they had on display there and had the opportunity to dress up in some clothes from years ago. After the museum they visited the Library who kindly donated a free book to the class. On Monday 5th November the children welcomed parents and family members to the first social lunch of the year. Everyone was treated to a lovely 2 course meal in the dining hall. Afterwards the children’s guests could either join them in the playground to play games or have a look in their classrooms at their work. On Wednesday 7th November the whole school had a visit from the NSPCC who gave their ‘Speak Out, Stay Safe’ assembly's and workshop to the children with the help of their ‘Speak Out, Stay Safe’ mascot Buddy the Speech Bubble who believes that children should be able to speak out to someone if they're worried or unhappy. They explained to the children how they can keep themselves safe from harm and get help if they have any worries. Bradford & Cookbury Parish Council COMMUNITYCOMMUNITY BENEFITBENEFIT FUNDINGFUNDING 20192019

Is your group, organisation or society in need of funds for its activities or projects? If so, Bradford & Cookbury Parish Council may be able to help.

The Council has reached an agreement with the owner and operator of the Dunsland Cross Wind Farm for discretionary funding of £12,000 per annum for activities and projects which can benefit our local community.

The fund was oversubscribed in 2018 so the funding committee will be operating a ‘window of opportunity’ system for new or re-submissions in 2019. Bids will be considered in order of receipt.

Applications for 2019 may be submitted between 1st February and 30th April.

The qualifying criteria for activities and projects can be found on the news page of the Parish Council website where an application form is available for downloading: www.bradfordandcookburyparishcouncil.uk/newsletters/ Alternatively, you can contact the Funding Committee using one of the methods shown below. The qualifying criteria and an application form will then be sent to you by return.
