LEADERSHIP

Dennis Chapman was appointed in 2014 as The New School’s third President and Head of School. Dennis was previously the Associate Head of School for Advancement at The Out-of-Door (ODA), in Sarasota, FL from 2006 – 2014. In this role, he was in charge of all fundraising and marketing/communications functions and worked directly with the admissions department. Dennis raised $30M during his time at ODA and led their $20M Capital Campaign, which was the largest in the school’s 90-year history, while growing the Annual Fund by 133%. He won more than a dozen regional and national marketing awards for his work while growing applications by 200% and adding over 175 students to its enrollment. Dennis was involved in piloting several academic projects including a 1:1 iPad program and a Preschool e-Portfolio program in order to track student progress.

Prior to joining Out-of-Door, Dennis worked in the development office at The Benjamin School in North Palm Beach, FL. Dennis has over 15 years of experience in the non-profit sector.

Dennis holds a Bachelor of Arts from Trinity International in Mass Communications and a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from the University of South . Dennis also completed the NAIS Aspiring Heads Fellowship program in 2013 and has presented at the FCIS (Florida Council of Independent Schools) Conference, CASE (Council to Aid and Support Education) conference and Finalsite University.
