Our journey starts off on two islands located in the middle of the mighty Zambezi River situated between the “Seventh Wonder of the Natural World”, the magnificent Victoria Falls, and the world famous . NOTES: Luggage is restricted to 15kg (33lbs) per person in soft-sided bags and 3kg (6.6 lbs) of hand luggage per Adult in soft sided bags only. You will be allowed one piece of carry-on luggage as long as you are prepared to carry this on your lap for the duration of the flight if necessary. Strictly no hard shell suitcases can be accepted.

Islands of Siankaba

The Islands of Siankaba, is a luxury lodge, located on two private islands in the middle of the mighty Zambezi River situated between the ‘Seventh Wonder of the Natural World’, the magnificent Victoria Falls, and the world famous Chobe National Park.

The lodge has been developed as a luxurious five star retreat with outstanding cuisine and uncompromising levels of personal service to exclusively sleep just fourteen guests. Each of Siankaba’s seven secluded chalets has been uniquely designed to maximize comfort and privacy whilst boasting spectacular views of the Zambezi River.

Shumba Camp

Located on a tree island in the centre of the breathtaking Busanga Plains is stylish Shumba Camp. Its six luxury tented units are spacious, en-suite with both indoor and outdoor showers, and all raised on wooden platforms with spectacular views of the surrounding plains.

The bar and dining area is shaded by spectacular fig trees and boasts magnificent vistas over the open wildlife-rich plains.

Dinner takes place either on the deck or in the cosy boma, along with a little Zambian culture while the camp’s main deck is a perfect place to star gaze or relax after your evening meal.

Shumba Camp is situated in the middle of the Busanga Plains in the midst of various lion pride territories and is said to provide some of the best lion viewing in Africa. These lion are often seen in and around camp. The area is also perfectly situated to see large numbers of plains game such as puku, red lechwe, Lichtenstein’s , oribi, buffalo and .

Cheetah and wild dog may also be seen, while a special treat is the ‘resident’ herd of rare roan . For birding enthusiasts, the park boasts 491 species, including endemics such as Chaplin's barbet.

Sanctuary Puku Ridge

The panoramic views of Sanctuary Puku Ridge Camp are astounding. Built on a hillside, it provides stunning vistas of the floodplain. Lying nestled in a remote game-rich area of the park, lion, leopard, elephant and zebra can frequently be seen.

The camp has been constructed to blend into the local surroundings and designed to leave the lowest possible carbon footprint.

Each of the seven safari tents has picture windows and its own viewing deck overlooking the plains where game amble across for a drink of water. Generous and comfortable, each tent has an en-suite bathroom with bath tub and shower, as well as an outdoor shower shaded by forest, all stocked with environmentally friendly products for your pure indulgence.

Watch the sun rise from your double bed, elephants bathing from the comfort of your bath tub, perhaps even wild dogs making their way across the plains in pursuit of prey from your private viewing deck.

This area is renowned for its incredible game viewing from the main areas as well as the guests’ tents. Thornicroft’s and Crawshay’s zebra are endemic species to this area.

Kaya Mawa

Kaya Mawa, voted in the top ten 'Most Romantic Places in the World' by Conde Nast and in the Tatler top 101 Hotels in the World and most recently voted the 3rd Best Beach Property in Africa 2013 in the Good Safari Awards and a finalist in 2012. From the construction and the staff to integration within the local community, there is literally nowhere else like it.

Each room is individually designed in partnership with Katundu Textiles, a workshop set up on the island to empower single mothers. All the workforce come from the neighbouring villages and have been trained on site. The result - a uniquely stunning lodge with a feeling of contemporary rustic whilst ultimately chic.

Likoma Island is set about half way up the lake and 12 km from the Mozambique side. Lake Malawi also known as the 'Calendar Lake' as it is 365 miles long, 52 wide and, rounded up, 1 mile deep. There are beautiful sights to see all around the island, as well as great interaction with the local community.

The must-see sight of the island is St Peter's Cathedral in Mbamba town, over 100 years old and bigger than Winchester! Even if you’re not the cathedral type, it never fails to leave people awestruck. Hopefully Vincent the verger will be there to give you the grand tour – always entertaining!

Up on the north point of the island is a forest reserve, near to some beautiful beaches. Or you can head across the island to Mbamba town and see the small cobbled market where locals get their daily supplies.

Kaya Mawa is partnered with Likoma Island Divers and is a recognised PADI Resort. Two in- house dive instructors are available so whatever skills you may or may not have we can get you exploring the amazing underwater scenery.

Likoma Island, surrounded by the pristine waters of Lake Malawi, is widely regarded as having the best diving on the Lake, both in terms of the diversity of fish species and their sheer abundance. Although the diving around Likoma is pleasant year-round, the best time of year for clear visibility is from around June to December.

Temperatures range from about 22C in winter months up to 28C in the summer. May to August is a windy period on the lake but even if the surface is a bit choppy, we normally get to enjoy the same calm conditions underwater.
