RuthNuneviller Steinem (motherof Gloria Steinem) attended UT beginning in 1918. She receivedan Apprenticeship in Arts degree in 1919, a Bachelor's of Arts degree in 1920, anda Master's in Arts degreein 1923.

One of the nation's better known "new journalig and an innovator pmmunity organization and control will introduce the 1979-71 University Convocationg eéries on Tuesday, October 6, at noon in The University of @ater with a joint discussion of the Women's Liberation Movement.
They are Gloria Steinem, contributing editor of "New York" Magazine, political and social columnist for a number of national publications, a Toledo native and daughter of
Leo Steinem, founding editor of The University of Toledo's student newspaper, "The
Collegian"; and Mrs. Dorothy Pitman, founder and director of New York City's community- controlled day care center and a founding member of the board of directors of a community- controlled’ public school in New York.
All events in the series will be held at noon in Doermann Theater, located in
University Hall, unless otherwise specified, and are free and open to the public, according to Dr. Boris E. Nelson, director of University Convocations.
Subsequent convocations during the University's fall quarter, which extends from
September 23 to December 11, will include:

Parkinson, British historian, educator and author of "Parkinson's
Law" (work expands to meet the time and personnel available for its
