Day 01 Airport/

Kandy is the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings before falling to the British & it’s a World Heritage Site. The name Kandy conjures vision of splendour of magnificence. Many of the legends, traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive. The centre of attraction is the golden roofed Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha . It is a City for arts and crafts as well culture and history.

In the evening visit a Cultural Performance in Kandy.

Day 02 & Day 03 Kandy/Hatton/

After the breakfast at the hotel proceed to Sri Subodharama International Buddhist Centre. Have a meditation session in there.

Then proceed to Hatton-Nallathanniya to climb Sri Pada.

Adam’s Peak or the Sri Pada is an important pilgrim site. Buddhist believes the impression on the summit is the footprint of lord Buddha himself. Though it takes around 5 hours to reach the peak by foot, devotees of many religions climb the mountain daily to invoke blessings. The pilgrimage starts at evening because day time is hard to climb & the pilgrims can see the sunrise at the first light. And also there’s an early morning worshiping at about 05 o’ clock.

Climb down from Sri Pada & transfer to hotel in Nuwara Eliya & stay relaxed in the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 04 Nuwara Eliya/Dambulla

After the breakfast at the hotel proceed to Dambulla. Enroute visit Aluvihare Rock Temple in .

The history of Aluvihare Rock Temple is traced back to the 3rd Century B.C to the reign of King Devanampiyatissa. It is believed that the King built the dagoba, planted the Bo sapling and founded the temple after the introduction of to the country during his reign.

Dambulla Cave Temple is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding area. Major attractions are spread over five caves, which contain statues and paintings. These paintings and statues are related to and his life. There are a total of 153 Buddha statues, three statues of Sri Lankan kings and four statues of gods and goddesses. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and one of the eight World Heritage Sites of Sri Lanka. After the breakfast at the hotel proceed to Colombo. Enroute visit Mahamevnawa Buddhist Monastery in Polgahawela.

Then proceed to Colombo. Enroute visit Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara.

Kelani Rajamaha Vihara built on the banks of the Kelaniya River is one of the most sacred sites of Sri Lanka. Buddha’s timely visit to the island resulted in quelling an imminent war between two kings named Chulodara and Mahodara over a jewel encrusted throne. Buddha having preached the doctrine on the disputed throne offered to him ensued lasting peace between the two kings. The great stupa built upon the site enshrining the throne was since then called Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara.
