Articulation Agreements

In October 2017, VFMC updated our agreement with Chestnut Hill College to facilitate the transfer of College associate degree recipients to the School of Continuing Studies and the School of Undergraduate Studies. College graduates who earn an Associate of Science (AS), an Associate of Arts (AA), or an Associate in Business Administration (ABA) degree will be granted junior status, after completing the Chestnut Hill transfer process. Under the Dual Admissions and Core- to-Core agreements, all Core and basic requirements will be satisfied in the Chestnut Hill programs, except six credits in religious studies. Qualified full-time and part-time students may receive academic grants; eligibility ranges from 3.0 to 4.0 GPA. In addition, Phi Theta Kappa members may also qualify. Chestnut Hill College is located in Chestnut Hill, PA. School of Hospitality Management

VFMC Associate in Business Administration graduates will be granted junior status in the Widener University School of Hospitality Management and will earn the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management. HM majors select from 9 concentrations: Hospitality Management, Hotel and Resort Management, Restaurant Management, Casino Hotel and Gaming Operations, Private Club Management, Contract Services, Tourism and Leisure Services, and Accounting, and Pre-MBA. Two summer internships and a cooperative education semester expand students’ “hands on” experience. The HM program prepares graduates to become leaders in the global hospitality industry. A range of scholarships may be available to transfers who earn 2.5 to 3.75 GPA. Widener University is located in Chester, PA. Mary Baldwin College and Virginia Women’s Institute for Leadership

In Fall 2008, VFMC and Mary Baldwin College (MBC) signed an agreement which offers guaranteed admission to graduates of VFMC to MBC and to the Virginia Women’s Institute for Leadership. Based on the VFMC student’s academic goals, MBC will develop an individualized graduation plan for every VFMC student considering transfer to MBC following completion of one semester of good standing at VFMC. Upon request, MBC will also provide transfer counseling to the student as she progresses through VFMC. In addition, this agreement includes scholarship opportunities based on cumulative grade point average at the time of graduation from VFMC and a waiver of MBC’s application fee. Mary Baldwin College and the Virginia Women’s Institute for Leadership are located in Staunton, Virginia.

SUNY Maritime College

The State University of New York Maritime College offers 3 transfer options to College associate degree recipients who achieve a minimum 2.5 GPA. College Associate of Science recipients with a concentration in Life Sciences will be granted junior status in the Bachelor of Science in Marine Environmental Science major with Marine Biology minor. A second option admits AS recipients with a concentration in Physical Sciences to the Bachelor of Science in Marine Environmental Science major with a Meteorology and Oceanography minor. A third option grants junior status to recipients of the Associate of Arts degree in Business. These students earn the Bachelor of Science in International Transportation and Trade. Students who transfer to SUNY Maritime may pursue commissioning opportunities with the United States Armed Forces; SUNY Maritime hosts a Navy and Marine Reserve Officers’ Training Corps program. SUNY Maritime College is located in Throgg’s Neck, NY. SUNY Maritime College Dual Admissions Option

Students who begin their studies at Valley Forge Military College, will be eligible to be considered for the Dual Admissions program. The VFMC Office of Admissions will be responsible for the selection of candidates for the program. Students may apply for the SUNY Maritime College admission either when they submit their application for VF, or at any time before completion of their second semester or 30 semester hours of credit at VF, provided the courses follow the requirements for the 3 aforementioned transfer programs.

Candidates who are selected for the program will receive concurrently letters of acceptance from the admissions offices at SUNY Maritime College and Valley Forge Military College. To maintain good standing in the Dual Admissions program, students must fulfill the following requirements:

1. Be continuously enrolled as a fulltime student at Valley Forge 2. Complete all courses specified by the respective transfer programs 3. Achieve a 2.5 cumulative average by the end of the semester prior to transfer 4. Earn the specified Valley Forge associate degree. Selected students will receive an “in state” tuition scholarship, granting them New York state resident tuition.

Drexel e-Learning Partnership

In August 2007, Valley Forge Military College signed “Letters of Understanding” with Drexel e-Learning, Inc., a wholly- owned subsidiary of , in order to initiate two new online partnerships between the university and VFMC. Since 1996, Drexel has pioneered online college courses that are taught by distinguished Drexel faculty and that culminate in bachelors and masters degrees, as well as graduate certificates.

The new partnerships offer both significantly discounted tuition and a wide range of degree options. One option is exclusively targeted for VFMC associate degree recipients who elect to complete a bachelor’s degree online. College transfer students and alumni will receive a 20% tuition reduction off on-campus Drexel tuition rates, for selected Bachelor of Science programs. Another option is available to current VF faculty and staff who pursue Master of Science degrees and graduate certificates in the School of Education online. A 30% tuition reduction is available to VF faculty and staff who enroll.

VFMC associate degree holders may select from seven Bachelor of Science programs: Communications and Applied Technology, Communications, Computing Technology, Education, Psychology, RN/BSN, and General Studies with a minor in Business. The latter program is an excellent fit for VF business concentration students who seek a broad based curriculum in humanities and liberal studies with a solid foundation for individuals who plan to enter or advance in management or business.

A sampling of Master of Science degrees in the School of Education includes Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum; Learning Technologies, Mathematics Teaching and Learning, and Science of Instruction. Cabrini College

In August 2010, VFMC and Cabrini College signed an agreement which offers guaranteed admission to associate degree recipients from VFMC into a Bachelor’s degree program with third year (junior) status at Cabrini College. The Dual Admissions and Core-to- Core Transfer Agreements are designed to facilitate VFMC students’ ease of transfer into Cabrini College. At Cabrini, students will benefit from an outstanding faculty committed to their success and a wide variety of educational opportunities in over 30 academic programs. In addition, Cabrini College will award scholarships to students with a 2.0 or higher VFMC GPA who attend Cabrini full-time, and will provide on-going advising while students are attending VFMC. Cabrini College is conveniently located adjacent to the VFMC campus in Wayne, PA. Thomas Jefferson University Jefferson School of Nursing & Jefferson School of Health Professions

In 2010, Thomas Jefferson University Jefferson School of Nursing and Jefferson School of Health Professions signed a Memorandum of Agreement to facilitate the transfer of College students into the following programs: Radiologic Sciences, Biotechnology, Cytotechnology, Medical Laboratory Science, Occupational Therapy, and Nursing. All prerequisite course work must be completed with a grade of C or better, and a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and 3.0 cumulative in science courses on a 4.0 scale. A program coordinator recommends the candidate in a narrative describing academic performance, character, and ability to perform in a health care setting.

Immaculata University

In 2017, signed a transfer agreement with VFMC. Immaculata offers day, evening and online bachelor’s programs. Students who sign a non-binding intent to enroll agreement before completing 30 credits and who earn are 2.0 or better are guaranteed admission to most programs. Immaculata’s Cybersecurity and Emergency Management Planning program allows for seamless transfer from the VFMC Justice and Security Studies program. Scholarships will be awarded annually to students who possess a cumulative VFMC grade point average of 2.5 and above. The scholarship amounts will vary between $7,000 and $15,000.

3.2-4.0 = $12,500-$15,000 2.80 – 3.9 = $7,000-$12,000 York College of

Valley Forge Military College (VFMC) and York College of Pennsylvania (YCP) have an articulation agreement specific to the Intelligence Analysis program at YCP. Students who graduate with an associate’s degree in Justice and Security Studies from VFMC and maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA are guaranteed admission at junior level status. Valley Forge Military College (VFMC) and La Salle University (La Salle) enter into this agreement in order to facilitate the transfer of students from Valley Forge Military College to La Salle University for the purpose of entering the bachelor's degree program.

Subject to the terms of this agreement, a student who completes the designated associate’s degree program at VFMC will be granted admission to La Salle University with junior status. Students may complete the requirements for the bachelor’s degree program within two years, although certain majors may require more than 20 courses.

Students must graduate from VFMC with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA in the appropriate associate’s degree for those majors included in this agreement. Students must have achieved a grade of ‘C’ or better in all courses transferred into the proposed major at La Salle. Passing grades lower than a ‘C’ in CORE courses, meaning courses outside of major, will be transferable, providing the student graduates with the required cumulative GPA. Successful full-time day dual admission candidates will qualify for a Dual Admission Achievement Scholarship in the amount of $1,500 per year at La Salle. Members of Phi Theta Kappa who graduate from VFMC with a 3.5 cumulative GPA or above, will qualify for a PTK Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 per year at La Salle. Only available to full-time day students. Scholarships will be awarded annually to students who possess a cumulative VFMC grade point average of 2.5 and above. The scholarship amounts will vary between $4,000 and $11,000 and scholarships are only offered to students who will be attending La Salle main campus as full-time day students. 4.0 = $11,000 2.8 – 3.29 = $9,000 2.5 – 2.79 = $4,000

VFMC signed a 2+2 agreement between U.S. Army Cadet Command and Misericordia University, enabling ROTC scholarship winners to attend the College, earn an associate degree, then transfer to Misericordia University for completion of the SROTC program and completion of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Qualifying students must maintain a 3.0 cumulative average on a 4.0 scale.

Drexel University

In 2010, VFMC formalized a cooperative relationship with Drexel University’s BSN Co-Op Program. Since all applicants must meet highly competitive admissions requirements, no formal articulation is required. However, all prospective students who are considering pursuing their nursing degree at Drexel will be assigned to a BSN Co-Op Academic Advisor who will assist in all aspects of planning, the application process, and matriculation.

In 2011, Temple University signed a Gen Ed-to-Gen Ed Agreement to accept the General Education (VF CORE) embedded in the College associate degrees: Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, and Associate in Business Administration as meeting all the requirements of its undergraduate University General Education Curriculum (Gen Ed).

Eligible VFMC graduates will be identified upon admission to Temple, and satisfaction of Temple’s Gen Ed requirements pursuant to the agreement will be noted on all pertinent student records. The agreement does not alter requirements of the student’s major field of study or requirements of the student’s Temple school or college.

Students who begin their freshmen studies at Valley Forge Military College are eligible to be considered for the Dual Admissions program with Temple University. Under this program, Valley Forge Military College graduates will be guaranteed admission into a bachelor’s degree program at Temple University. Students must apply for Temple University admission after being admitted to VF, but before completion of 30 semester hours of credit at VF.

To maintain good standing in the Dual Admissions program, students fulfill the following requirements:

1. Earn a high school diploma or its equivalent prior to signing the Dual Admissions Intent form 2. Sign a non-binding Dual Admission Intent form any time after admission to VFMC and prior to completing 30 college credits at VFMC or another college or university 3. Graduate with a VFMC associate degree and earn a minimum 2.3 cumulative GPA 4. Enroll at Temple within one year of VFMC graduation 5. Do not attend another institution between graduation from VFMC and enrolling at Temple 6. Apply by the appropriate deadlines as determined by Temple 7. Complete other admissions requirements as determined by and to the satisfaction of Temple University (Students who have previously matriculated to Temple University are not eligible for the Dual Admissions program.)
