SAKS FIFTH AVENUE TO UNVEIL AN ENCHANTED EXPERIENCE HOLIDAY WINDOW DISPLAY AND LIGHT SHOW
Saks partners with MasterCard to present a true spectacle on Fifth Avenue
New York, NY (November 3, 2014) — On Monday, November 24, Saks Fifth Avenue’s flagship store debuts An Enchanted Experience. The fantastical new show includes the unveiling of the store’s iconic holiday windows and the premiere of a dramatic light display encompassing the entire building. The Rockettes® will kick things off with an exclusive performance including a full line of 36 of the world-class dancers—an unprecedented number—on the streets of Fifth Avenue. The breathtaking windows and light display, presented exclusively by MasterCard, will then continue throughout the holiday season.

AN ENCHANTED EXPERIENCE The show will be the first of its kind, integrating LEDs, strobes, up-lights, video projections and music into a stunning program that is bigger and more brilliant than ever before. The lighting truly interacts with the projected elements, producing stunning results that turn the façade of the iconic luxury retailer into a traffic-stopping

Notably, the show requires: • 71,000 lights • 11,000 linear feet of garlands, stretching 30 feet high • 6 state-of-the-art 3D projectors with 26,000 lumens each • 9000+ hours of work to produce The entire show is an homage to the incredible legacy of Saks Fifth Avenue. Saks was born in the roaring ‘20s when shopping was glamorous and everything felt possible. This year, the legendary Art Deco glamour from the earliest days of Saks Fifth Avenue returns in the form of a brilliant display of light and music. After the grand debut, the program will continue to run every day and night through the new year.
THE ROCKETTES ® The Rockettes are truly an iconic dance company known for their rich history and synonymous with the holidays in New York. They have entertained audiences for decades with their unrivaled talent, strength, precision and athleticism. Each year, the Rockettes dazzle and captivate millions of fans as the stars of the annual Radio City Christmas Spectacular® at Radio City Music Hall as well as their national tour, which this year is playing in Nashville, Omaha and Houston.
To get a closer look at the legendary New York dance company, Saks Fifth Avenue is inviting customers to a sneak peek behind the curtain of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular® with an exhibit honoring the Rockettes. The Shop will be transformed into a Rockettes inspired holiday display featuring extraordinary vintage Rockettes costumes and accessories by famed designers as well as other Rockettes holiday items inspired by The Radio City Christmas Spectacular. The exhibit will live on 9 at the Saks Fifth Avenue New York store from October 30 to December 29.
In addition, the Rockettes also star in Saks Fifth Avenue’s Holiday book debuting October 29. Set to the backdrop of the iconic Radio City Music Hall, the Rockettes are featured in an array of glamorous archival costumes created by famed designers such as Bob Mackie and Erte. The Holiday Book also includes the exclusive Rockettes Beauty collection, which is comprised of the Backstage Beauty Set ($50), the Signature Eyelash Set ($40), and the Signature Lip Set ($50), including the Rockettes Red Lipstick. THE WINDOWS This holiday season, Saks Fifth Avenue’s six animated windows—always at the heart of the holidays in New York—will be transformed into scenes from classic fairy tales immaculately rendered in an Art Deco style, with iconic New York locations providing the backdrop. Whether it’s Rumplestiltskin spinning straw into gold in gloomy subway tunnels, Rapunzel using her hair to swing about the Empire State Building, Cinderella arriving at the Saks Fifth Avenue Ball, or Snow White being tempted by an evil apple merchant in the heart of Times Square, each window depicts a different fantasy New York moment.

The remaining Saks Fifth Avenue windows will feature elegant fashion and holiday attire, all presented in an Art Deco style inspired by the artist Erté. The corner windows of the flagship store will have theatrical Erté-inspired costume pieces, which will further enhance the theater of the holidays at Saks Fifth Avenue.
