1 Uniforms to Set a New Standard

Torrance Memorial is implementing a standardized uniform program. The target date for official implementation is sometime in June 2014. The goal of the program is to create a more professional look and to help our inpatients and their families to quickly identify the members of their health care team. It will also help team members to quickly recognize each other.

Studies have shown that uniforms help staff better affiliate with a team to create a more cohesive work environment. Torrance Memorial is not the innovator of this practice. Many organizations across the nation have already implemented similar pro- grams. They have all reported increased patient satisfaction scores as well as increased employee pride and professionalism as a result.

Since the focus of the effort is on patients we serve within the hospital, the program will not be implemented at Polak Imaging and Breast Diagnostic Centers. More than 2,000 employees will be placing orders. will be embroidered with the Tor- rance Memorial logo. Employees will not start wearing their new uniforms until everyone has received their scrubs.

The Pride and Communication Council Uniform Sub-Committee is proud to present to you the final color choices for the Scrub Uniform Program. We appreciate your support during this transition.
