Time for Community

The Communities Scheme provides funding for community committees throughout the island of . Through this scheme, creates a network of community-based Irish language development officers who work under the direction of local Irish language committees. These officers have a facilitation and networking role, as well as duties relating to the development of other bodies to promote Irish in the community. Through the Language Planning Process, Foras na Gaeilge is responsible for developing 5 Irish Language Network communities/areas and 13 Service Towns subject to regulations in the Gaeltacht Act (2012), as well as other major Government initiatives. A wide range of other grant schemes are administered for Irish language centres, for community radio stations and for Irish language print and online media. gaeilge.ie is a portal site for the Irish language which is administered by Foras na Gaeilge. The site functions as a landing page which guides visitors to a wide range of services, organisations and projects which Foras na Gaeilge supports. Foras na Gaeilge provides funding for the PEIG.ie site, which functions as a central point of information for the Irish language. PEIG.ie publishes information about news, events, vacancies and much more.
