Ningbo China Institute for Supply Chain Innovation
The government of Ningbo and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) jointly established the Ningbo China Institute for Supply Chain Innovation (NISCI), an exclusive education and research center in China focus on logistics and supply chain management in 2016. The mission of NISCI is to become an international center of excellence for research and education in logistics and supply chain management. Also, NISCI serves an important role in supporting Ningbo in its development of "World Class Port City".
Under the guidance of MIT Transportation and Logistics Center, NISCI is a non-profit independent educational and research institution and is a member of the MIT Global Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence (SCALE) network. Currently, the network has five centers in China, Colombia, Spain, Luxembourg and Malaysia outside the United States. In addition, there are 14 graduate programs and executive training programs in Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia, 90 supply chain and logistics professional teachers and research partners, 150 partner companies and organizations, and more than 1,000 alumni around the world.
Through the introduction of MIT's curriculum, teaching methods and evaluation system, NISCI established masters and executive education programs to cultivate elite talents for international supply chain management. The Institute also works closely with industry to establish a college industry alliance, enhance the global competitiveness of enterprises, and create a collaborative innovation system that integrates production and education.

Faculty Benefits
1. Ningbo government offers a housing allowance starting from CNY 350,000 over 3 years to incoming talents with PhD degrees (one-off payment after the purchase of real estate). 2. The postdoctoral talents can apply for living allowances, and those who work in Ningbo after finishing the 2-year postdoctoral appointment can apply for additional allowances up to CNY 500,000. 3.
