Swedish ice report

Bay of Bothnia
In the archipelagoes up to 55 cm fast ice. North of a line Skellefteå-Norströmsgrund-Marjaniemi there is 20-50 cm compact or very close ice with some heavy ridges. A brash ice barrier runs along the ice edge approximately 5 nautical miles south of Nygrån and north of Falkens grund. Close to Finnish coast, mostly open ice and new ice, 5-10 cm. Next 12h heavy icepressure to the coast from Malören to Hailuoto. The brash ice barrier continues to grow, mostly at the eastern part of the basin.
The Quark
In the archipelagoes and west of Holmöarna 15-30 cm fast ice. Along the Swedish coast from Holmsund to Skagsudde, compact ice 20-40 cm, with a brash ice barrier along the ice edge. In the Nordvalen passage, and east of Holmöarna mostly open or very open ice. Next 12 h heavy ice pressure to N and NE towards the W part of the Quark in the passage through Nordvalen.
Northern Sea of Bothnia In sheltered coastal areas fast ice or level ice, up to 20 cm. No major changes over the next 24 hours.
Southern Sea of Bothnia
Thin level ice in sheltered areas close to the coast. No major changes over the next 24 hours.
Sea of Åland

Archipelago Sea
Level ice and drift ice up to 15 cm in the archipelago off the Finnish coast. Close to Åland thin level ice. No major changes over the next 24 hours.
Northern Baltic

Central Baltic
Level ice in sheltered bays between Nyköping and Valdermarsvik. No major changes over the next 24 hours
Gulf of Finland Between St. Petersburg and Kotlin, in the bay of Vyborg and in the Finnish archipelago up to 30 cm fast ice. North of a line Schepeleyski – Orrengrund and along the entire Finnish south coast, compact ice 15-25 cm with brash ice at the ice edge. No major changes over the next 24 hours.
Gulf of Riga
In the northern part, to Kihnu and in the Moon Strait, up to 15 cm level ice. In Pärnu bay fast ice 20-35 cm. South of Ösel and outside the Estonian coast to Kihnu compact ice. No major changes over the next 24 hours.
