1) Make sure all candles are extinguished after 8:00 service. 6.8.13asl

2) ….. Return BRASS BOOK standing to left Altar. …Remove colored SILK and BURSE from Altar and lay on Altar.

3) Make sure hands clean before touching Gluten-free wafers that are in and their storage containers in . Find the PYX on Altar. If there are Gluten-free wafers in the PYX on the Altar , they are consecrated and they should be transferred to the PYX in the Aumbry. (The will place pre- consecrated items on the Altar, beside the Corporal, for use during the 10:30 service.)

There should always be a total of THREE gluten-free wafers either in the Aumbry consecrated PYX or others in the Non-Consecrated PYX which would be placed at the back left corner on the Corporal before the 10:30 service.

4) Check JEWELED CHALICE on Altar on top of Altar Corporal for any wine. If there is wine here, it is consecrated but it be consumed or pour wine directly on to the ground outside in the yard. Our sacristy sink does not drain directly to the ground. Never return used wine in Chalice to a cruet.

Remove used Jeweled Chalice to Sacristy and Clean chalice with HOT soapy water, making sure that lipstick is removed.

Clean used purificators with cold water and Murphy's Oil Soap, leave in Altar Guild bowls soaking, making sure that all stains are removed (You may put on towel hanging rack when washed clean. Be sure to let Linen person know that you have left dirty linens.)

Replace with clean Purificator on Jeweled Chalice, then silver with Priest Wafer, then place Hard Linen Pall on top and return to Altar center.

At Altar…Replace colored silk veil then burse on top of Jeweled Chalice…then we have a “Vested Chalice” (check for two folded Purificators and folded veil inside Burse)

5) Check 1ST SILVER WINE CRUET on top of Altar Corporal for any wine. If there is wine here, it is consecrated and should be added to the Aumbry Glass Wine Cruet. You can do that right at the Altar.

Then, remove the 1ST SILVER WINE CRUET to Sacristy, re-fill with one (1) cup wine and return to Small table by the Baptismal Font.

The Aumbry is the storage place for consecrated wine and wafers, and the Sanctuary Light must be lit. (Sanctuary candles are in lower East Sacristy cabinet.) If consecrated wine still remains in silver cruet, you must consume it or pour wine directly on to the ground outside in the yard. Our sacristy sink drain does not go directly to the ground.

6) Check for regular WAFERS lying on top of the Altar Corporal. These wafers are consecrated and should be added to the Aumbry Silver . Regular wafers that do not fit in this ciborium must be consumed.

The Aumbry is the storage place for consecrated wine and wafers, and the Sanctuary Light must be lit. ( candles are in lower East Sacristy cabinet.)

c) Check SILVER TRAY in middle front for extra wafers that might need to be returned to “Loose Wafer Box” in Sacristy cabinet. Make sure that 50 wafers are still inside plastic bag marked 50. More may be needed for larger services. Ask Priest.

d) Check 2nd SILVER WINE CRUET at the back right of Credence Table with 1 ½ cups wine for 10:30 service. You might have to remove to Sacristy to re-measure for 1 ½ cups wine. Make sure that point is turned to the front and handle to the back. Wine is always to the RIGHT on our Credence Table.

e) You might find the 1st SILVER WINE CRUET on Credence Table from earlier service. Just remove to Sacristy, re-fill the First Wine Cruet with one (1) cup wine and return to Small table by the Baptismal Font.

f) Find SILVER CIBORIUM and empty regular wafers into Loose Wafer Box in Sacristy, if any, and fill with 100 wafers (whole tube of regular wafers) for 10:30 service and return to Small table by the Baptismal Font. If Ciborium is on Credence Table, wafers are NOT consecrated. AT NO TIME GO BACK AND TOUCH GLUTEN-FREE WAFERS AFTER TOUCHING REGULAR WAFERS.

g) Check 2nd SILVER CHALICE at back center on Table to see if used. If used, take to Sacristy, clean silver with HOT soapy water, making sure that lipstick is removed. Clean PURIFICATOR with cold water and Murphy’s Oil Soap and leave used linen in Altar Guild bowls.

Return clean 2ND SILVER CHALICE to back center of Table WITH PURIFICATOR and HARD LINEN PALL on top.

h) Water, wine and wafers left on Credence Table are not consecrated and may be returned to container and stored in Sacristy.

i) Make sure the LARGE SILVER ALMS BASIN AND FOUR (4) SMALLER SILVER ALMS BASINS are on First shelf under main Credence Table. The money counters sometimes leave these in Sacristy after counting at 8:00…always check for four and look under velvet circles for change. Clean with silver polish cloth if you see finger prints.

8) Check SILKS, LINENS, FLOWERS & CANDLES on and around Altar.

9) REFILL ALTAR CANDELABRA AND PROCESSIONAL TORCHES with liquid wax, if needed. Remove candelabra to the Sacristy and place on half-round table under wooden table where money is counted……Get Clear Plastic Liquid Wax Bottle which is under sink, far right door, in front of large pump bottle—refill from large bottle if low of liquid wax…..THEN…. Altar Guild members must check and REFILL EACH candle in all Candelabra….by gently UNSCREWING Brass TOP/follower to see if Liquid Wax is inside at the Top….HOLD BRASS TOP/follower THERE and DO NOT PULL WICK COMPLETELY OUT OF CANDLE (leave most of wick dangling inside candle), DO NOT TWIST WICK/brass screw piece OUTSIDE TOP OF BRASS TOP/follower…Carefully open bottle, pour liquid wax almost to inside top…Then put bottle down and turn TOP/follower about four (4) turns...do not tighten as hard as you can…someone will have to open them after you. When finished with all candles, return to Altar, CAREFULLY---do not trip.

10) Check HYMN BOARD for 10:30 Hymns and Sunday Title….add 10:30 Hymns at this time if not already in place.

11) Return filled 1ST SILVER WINE CRUET and SILVER CIBORIUM to the small table by the Baptismal Font. 12) There are glass vases and green plastic oasis boxes in Sacristy cabinet under funeral palls. There are cards and plastic card sticks in right closet door pockets for flower delivery. There is green tape in middle sliding shelf inside left closet. Rev. Anne Harris is also putting her sermon in Sacristy for home delivery, and you could include a 10:30 program with your flower delivery. 6.8.13 Thank you Altar Guild+
