Esta es la historia de la minoría étnica musulmana de los Rohingyas. Procedentes del estado de Rakhine al oeste de Myanmar, huyeron de la violencia del régimen militar en 1992 y desde entonces han sido perseguidos: se les ha denegado la ciudadanía de su país, se les ha confiscado la tierra, han sido desalojados de sus hogares y sus casa destruidas, tienen restricciones a la hora de casarse y se les utiliza como fuerza de trabajo en carreteras y bases militares. Esta es la historia de varios miles de ellos -hasta 50000- que huyendo de la persecución se han establecido en territorio de Bangladesh, justo al otro lado de la frontera con Myanmar.

This is the story of the Muslim Rohingyas, an ethnic minority original from the Rakhine State in West Myanmar, and how they escaped from violence from the military regime in 1992. Since then they had been running from political and ethnic persecution: their citizenship had been denied, their lands had been confiscated, and their homes destroyed. At home in Myanmar, they have heavy restrictions to move, work or even marry. Usually they are used as forced labor to work in roads and military constructions. This is the story of many of them -around 50.000- that, running from persecution they found refuge in Bangladesh, a few kilometers away from their own homes in the border with Myanmar.
