2. Description of training centre: The Capu Midia Range is the specialized unit of the Romanian Air Forces which provides facilities for surface-to-air, air-to-air and sea-to-air firings, complex training in simulated combat scenarios and new products acceptance tests. Moreover, surface-to-surface (land or sea) firings are possible, as well. Location: on the Black Sea coast, at approx. 25 km north to Constanta town (approx. 44o22’ lat. N 28o42’ long. E).

Description of the proposed course and access conditions: − Capu Midia firing range dispose of secured wide range areas, equipment for trajectography as well as a wide array of remote controlled targets (aerial and naval). − Available infrastructure: accommodation, meals and medical care facilities for 200 officers and 900 unlisted at a time; ammunition storage facilities; communication networks (military and civilian); recreation facilities outdoor sport-field, fishing, swimming, sun-bath on the sea-beach. RANGE SMARDAN

1. NAME: Rifle Range Smardan 2. General description and access conditions: Destination: The RANGE SMARDAN is situated at approximate 20 km NW from Galati and it has a 5.5 km frontal enlargement, and approximate 15,5 – 16 km depth, having at this moment an area of 8544 ha, property of the Defense Ministry, out of which: - Instruction field: 7472 ha; - Automatic sectors: 313 ha; - Yards, roads, constructions: 143 ha; - Forests: 616 ha. The polygon is homologized for the following activities: - Instruction and verification firings using the infantry armament and the tank armament, and dropping the offensive and defensive hand grenades; - FTX up to the squadron (tanks) level on the offensive, and up to Company level on the defensive; - Instruction and verification firings using the artillery armament, by direct leveling and from covered firing positions, at maximum 12 km firing distance, with all sorts of unit’s and great unit’s artillery devices. - FTX up to level the artillery group (2 B.) - Real firings with the helicopters and hunting-bombing airplanes’ armament; - Special firings with NBC protection subunits; - Training in driving the infantry hunting trucks and tanks. b) Structure: The range is divided in: - an artillery firing sector; - a sector of infantry armament firing, fitted with ECPA-91 equipment assisted by computer, which gives the shooters the access to all the conditions stipulated in the infantry armament firing regulation; - a sector of tank armament firing, also fitted with ECPA-91 equipment. All the firing problems stipulated in the firing regulation of the tank subunits may be solved out. - a sector of tank manipulation fitted with barrages, ramps and all sorts of escarps. The artillery firings from covered positions may be fulfilled on the whole surface of the polygon, considering the safety measures of the armament and munitions implied. c) Relief - weald, crossed by deep valleys, north-south oriented. - the valleys have a 50-70 m maximum depth and a 500-1000m opening.

3. Administrative information: The offer: Loadging, feeding, maintenance, technical assistance and storage for the military of UE member countries. Airport facilities The barrack has 2 landing paths for helicopters. Other facilities: - Troupes showering (20showers in the settled area); - Briefing hall with 15 places; - Clubbing hall with 40 places. b) Range equipment The equipment used in the sector of firing with the infantry armament and tank armament may move (influence) all the targets stipulated in our firing regulation. For the tactical battle firing applications,

NAME: TRAINING AND FIRING RANGE- CINCU LOCATION: Cincu range is disposed in the commune of Cincu at 25 km far from Fagaras, 13 km far from the commune of Voila and 25 km far from locality of Agnita. The Brasov-Fagaras-Sibiu highway and railway through Voila unites the above mentioned localities. 2. GENERAL DESCRIPTION AND ACCESS CONDITIONS: The altitude of the range varies between 400-700 m and has a relief composed of plateaus, slopes and everglades, 6 – 10% slanting slopes passable for the military technical equipment, a temperate-continental climate, a yearly 7º - 8º average temperature, natural range roads covering an approximately 100 km distance. a) TECHNICAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION: The range perimeter has an approximately 80 km length, on it can be executed fire missions from a 35 km distance. Out of the range can be also used a number of 12 sectors, having a total surface of 570 ha, belonging as ownership to the mayoralties from Fagaras, Sercaia, Mandra si Soars as areas for assuming the launch and firing positions. In order to utilize these sectors, some agreements were concluded with their owner. Within the range there are a number of 6 areas within which can be effected passages on a total surface of approximately 1600ha, and the surface on which it can be camped is of approximately 440ha. b) TRAINING ACTIVITIES SUITABLE : - combat firing tactical exercises at infantry company and battalion, artillery battery and battalion, artillery group (of brigade and army corps) level, as well as piece and platoon combat firing tactical exercises; firing from firing position covered by the artillery and all bore diameter throwers; aviation and helicopter fire; direct laying and from direct laying position homologation and experimental artillery as well as helicopter fire executed by the armament and ammunition producing works. 3. ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION: The military unit managing the range, can provide accommodation and food for 500 military, having rooms for the ammunition and materiel storage under security conditions and places for camping and parking the military technical equipment. Military strength streaming towards the range is executed beginning from the following railway stations having each one an embarkation-debarkation ramp, as follows: Voila, Fagaras, Arpasu de Jos, Rupea, Sighisoara, Danes, Dumbraveni, Medias.

1. NAME: COMPUTERIZED TRAINING RANGE- BOGATA LOCATION: 6 kilometers south of TURDA City , CLUJ County.

2. GENERAL DESCRIPTION AND ACCESS CONDITIONS: - AREA: 64 hectares ( property of the Romanian MOD) - TRAINING ACTIVITIES SUITABLE : Firing sessions with max. 20 mm caliber weapons, except for the RPG-7, A.G.-9 mortar and 73 mm. gun rounds. Navy Application School was established one century ago in 1896, in Galati. In our days the Navy Application School is located in Constanta, inside of the Naval Academy campus.
