Website: htt p://www.sac.edu/cms 3 ADVANCED ELECTRICAL REPAIRS This is an advanced electrical course that starts off with Three-Way Switch circuits, and progresses through Four-Way Switch circuits, multi-wire circuits, and prime power (circuit breaker) circuits. Learn how electrical power comes from the power pole and is distributed through the power panel (circuit breaker) box. Limited hands-on experience is available, including how to remove, test and replace circuit breakers. Pre-requisite: Basic Electrical Repairs course or equivalent, subject to approval of instructor. HOME IMPROVEMENT REPAIRS This is a basic course to help you repair construction, plumbing, and electrical problems! Learn how to tell the diff erence between a major or minor (cosmetic) building construction problem, and how to repair it. Learn how to clear a clogged drain and troubleshoot a plumbing problem. BEADS, CRYSTALS & SEMI-PRECIOUS STONES This beginning jewelry design class will introduce students to basic jewelry construction. Learn designing techniques using bead wire, toggles, clasps, eye/head pins and hooks. Students will have a choice to create a necklace and earring set or necklace and bracelet set using beads, crystals or semi-precious stones. BASIC WIRE-WRAPPING This hand-wiring class will teach you techniques to design and create beautiful jewelry at a fraction of the cost of retail. LIVING DESERT ZOO & GARDENS For over 40 years, the Living Desert has been engaged preserving and conserving the desert and all its varied plant and animal life. This wonderful oasis is a combination of zoo, endangered species conservation center, botanical gardens, natural history museum and wilderness park. Upon arrival, enjoy an included boxed lunch. Then, embark on a two-hour safari tram tour of the grounds led by nature guides. You’ll see remarkable plants, animals and natural phenomena associated with deserts and discover how The Living Desert protects them. Having celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2016, the Kern County Museum showcases the lifestyle and history of this region and its significance and how it helped shape the history of California.
